Discovered that their was a card/board game shop about 10 minutes from my house so I decided to check it out. I enjoy playing MTG with friends and also play yugioh and pokemon more competitively so I figured I'd check it out. As far as card games are concerned, the shop primarily focuses on MTG. Playing here has been fun and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A majority of the people I've played with have been kind and fun to play with as someone who doesn't typically play a ton of magic in person. The store itself is well stocked with board games/tcg products/drinks and snacks. Overall, this place is definitely a gem for board game/tcg fans in the area Show less

Discovered that their was a card/board game shop about 10 minutes from my house so I decided to check it out. I enjoy playing MTG with friends and also play yugioh and pokemon more competitively so I figured I'd check it out. As far as card games are concerned, the shop primarily focuses on MTG. Playing here has been fun and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a huge selection of board games to rent at a super fair price of 5$ for a table for as long as you want, and even more games for sale at better prices than most department stores. The staff is super welcoming and friendly and checks in frequently to make sure you're enjoying your time there, even on busier days. They have lots of super cool events for all interests- my boyfriend loves strategy board games, so he attended board gaming night, and I prefer social games, so I attended Blood on the Clocktower. We've had a blast every time we go. Perfect for date nights, friend get-togethers, family outings, or even going solo and finding new friends. Show less

Cannot recommend this place enough. I went here with my boyfriend for the first time, as he loves board games, and we immediately made plans to return. They have a huge selection of board games to rent at a super fair price of 5$ for a table for as long as you want, and even more games for sale at better prices than most department stores. Kids not welcome. I’m very sad our visit ended horribly. The place is nicely decorated and has a great atmosphere. Prices are good and the cashier was super nice and was incredibly helpful. Unfortunately, I left crying. Not sure if it’s the owner or manger but he seemed uncomfortable with my two small kids in the store even though they were well behaved and we kept to ourselves playing a game. After a few hours, my son needed a diaper change. There is no changing table or anyway to change a diaper in the bathroom, so I quickly and discretely, changed his diaper on the bench and threw it in the trash. We were debating which Pokémon set to get my daughter when the manager/owner came up to me and told me I can’t change a diaper on the bench and that it was completely unacceptable. I told him there was no changing table and he said they are not trying to be accommodating to people like us. He also said it was unacceptable to put “something like that” in their trash. He was so rude about it that I gathered our stuff, grabbed the diaper out of the trash and left in tears. I’m heartbroken because I was so excited to find another game store and took my family here for Father’s Day but we will not be back. Nice store for adults but no sympathy or accommodations for children or parents. If you have little kids go to Your Local Game Store. The owner Tim has young kids, kids are welcome, and there is a changing table in the bathroom. Show less

I've been playing Trading Card Games for over 3 years now and have been to almost all of the Hobby shops/collectible card shops in the greater Charlotte area. I have to say that this is probably the top 2 or even 1 shop I've been to! Prices have always been fair (way better than online prices or even locally), they stock the best sleeves (Katanas) and have a great community and staff. I've been playing Trading Card Games for over 3 years now and have been to almost all of the Hobby shops/collectible card shops in the greater Charlotte area. I have to say that this is probably the top 2 or even 1 shop I've been to! Prices have always been fair (way better than online prices or even locally), they stock the best sleeves (Katanas) and have a great community and staff. Went there for the first time today. Couldn’t have been a better experience. While I typically am looking for older stuff (collecting vintage RPG ephemera), a shop like this warms my heart. The shop was packed with families and friends all playing games together. A place like this just didn’t exist for me when I was a kid and if it did, it certainly wasn’t as welcoming or friendly to newcomers or non-regulars. The two gentlemen who answered my questions were delightful and kind and even gave me a free sticker! Little things like that always make me smile. It’s clearly a hopping spot and now I have a place to go to learn one of their dozens and dozens of board games. Also, they sell beer which, c’mon now, that’s just awesome. This place is awesome. I'd never have expected so much charm to fit into one little store. I first visited for an FNM draft of Edge of Eternities with my son. They were very accommodating of him as a new player, and we both had a great time. The set was space themed, and my son (astute as he is) asked if some of the decor in the shop (some framed astronaut pictures and other subtle touches here and there) were set up specifically for this set. I answered a clear and authoritative "No." I, an adult human being, seasoned in the harsh and cruel world of our time, clearly know that no one would go to such effort to do something like that, charming as it may be. But lo! I was quickly corrected, and, frankly, bewildered, that someone had taken the time and effort to add such a beautiful, but subtle touch for the benefit of the handful of nerds that spend their evenings turning cardboard sideways. Since then, I've been continuously impressed with the venue, whether it be for the ambience, friendly staff, welcoming crowd, or outstanding value (a night out for two for only $30? Yes, please!) Seriously, I can't recommend this place enough. If you like to get your planeswalk on (they've got tons of other games to!), this is the perfect place to do it. Show less

The staff are very welcoming and went out of their way their way to make game recommendations that were a perfect match for our group. The room with the tables was modern and very clean. I am a middle age woman and there was no judgement, it is a space for people of all ages. They have a private room that fits up to 10 people and you can reserve for the very reasonable price of $25. If you like one of the games you borrow they will deduct the $5 table fee from the price of the game if you purchase. I couldn't recommend this place more! (Pro tip: If you want to use the tables on the weekends, plan on going after 5 pm. They often have events during the daytime) Show less

If you like one of the games you borrow they will deduct the $5 table fee from the price of the game if you purchase. I couldn't recommend this place more! What a fantastic little spot this is locally to the wider Charlotte area. Incredibly accommodating and cozy, has a great selection of games and Magic Product and they have fostered a wonderfully supportive and welcoming community. I went in as a first timer to commander and had a great play experience. The space is cozily lit and comfortable. Pricing is honestly phenomenal compared to other locations within the area. I couldn’t recommend the space more to people interested in getting game time in with friends, loved ones, or even trying to meet new play groups. I will come back many many times. Show less
