We were there two Fridays ago. I got this gaming book gem(pic). I made my purchase at the food counter as they looked at the card order spot. My husband was not so lucky he found out Friday night is only for playing magic and not filling new card orders or buying them new? He went up after placing the order then said that the two people behind the counter were 'more interested in talking to one another them helping him'. He wanted to buy a box of unopened new card packs as well. He was told they would not fill the order tonight. I assumed staffing for Friday night magic. But, to then ignore him for rest seemed not right. He was bumed out as to get there, both us and his friend to have the night off. That is not easy, he always has to work. Also, this was after driving an hour just to do this shopping. Show less

When my husband and I moved to the area, we initially really like atomic empire. Unfortunately, as the years have gone on, their staff has gotten worse. Every time we go in, it's a hassle to get the staff to help us or sometimes even acknowledge our presence. The staff often have a bad attitude and are unhelpful. In August, I put in a preorder for the Riftbound starter box. Today, I received an email that they will no longer be receiving their full preorder, and that orders will be cancelled. In this email, they also stated that they will still have some Riftbound starter boxes coming in, but they will all be allocated to first come, first serve customers. We have tolerated poor customer service partially due to the location, but also to support local businesses. This is not the first time I have had an issue with preordering items at atomic empire either. In the past, we have had about a 50% chance of getting the item we preordered. In the past when we have inquired about items coming out soon, the employees have also been less than helpful. If something is going to need a preorder, they have said so, but when I ask when the preorder goes up, they just shrug and say they do not know. We have learned if you do not preorder an item, and ask about it after it's been released, the staff also have a bad attitude and ask if I've preordered. If I don't preorder, I don't get the item. Apparently if I do preorder, I also don't get the item. Going forward, I do not think I will be giving my business to atomic empire anymore. I will simply go to another local business who will treat me as an actual human being. Show less

Atomic Empire is by far the largest game store I’ve ever been to! They have an incredible variety of games — everything from simple card games to tabletop miniatures and more. The store also features an impressive selection of books, comics, and collectibles, making it a great stop for any hobby enthusiast. If you’re looking for a place to play, they offer the largest gaming area in the region with plenty of tables and a welcoming atmosphere. They even have refreshments available, which is a nice touch for longer gaming sessions. The only area I think could use some improvement is staff interaction. While a few employees are fantastic and really engage with customers, a larger portion tend to keep to themselves. That said, the ones who do interact are excellent and very knowledgeable. Overall, it’s an amazing place for any gamer or collector — I’ll definitely be coming back! Show less

Atomic Empire is by far the largest game store I’ve ever been to! They have an incredible variety of games — everything from simple card games to tabletop miniatures and more. The store also features an impressive selection of books, comics, and collectibles, making it a great stop for any hobby enthusiast. If you’re looking for a place to play, they offer the largest gaming area in the region with plenty of tables and a welcoming atmosphere. Steve is the main contact there and he just went above and beyond in explaining things to a rather new comic collector like myself. As far as condition and shipping, every book looks NM+ brand new unread. The packaging is great too, never had a problem with about 4-5 shipments so far. You can also select back issues and have them shipped with your subscription to save on shipping cost. This company really looks out for its customers! They are my #1 source for comics. If you are looking for a place that can answer literally any question on the planet related to gaming, hobbies, or tabletop life in general, stop scrolling. Atomic Empire is it. I walked in and immediately witnessed Josh behind the counter deliver what can only be described as a masterclass in rapid-fire gaming knowledge. I am pretty sure he answered about 42 questions in a row for another customer without pausing to breathe, blink, or consult the internet. It was a nonstop barrage of rules clarifications, recommendations, expansions, alternatives, and “if you like that, you might also like this,” and he did not miss a beat. It was impressive. Slightly intimidating. Definitely reassuring. When it was my turn, I came in with a short list. One item was predictably out of stock because it is wildly popular and Christmas season is basically the Hunger Games for hobby supplies. No problem. Josh immediately pivoted, pulled out my backup option, explained why it was a solid choice, and saved me from walking out empty-handed and sad. That alone earns points. This place is not just a store. It is a full-blown ecosystem. Games. Cards. Miniatures. Paints. Dice in quantities that suggest someone here really understands the emotional support value of shiny math rocks. Events happening constantly. Tables full of people actually playing games instead of just buying them and leaving. It feels like community, not commerce. If you want a place that sells stuff, there are plenty of stores. If you want a place that knows stuff, teaches stuff, hosts stuff, and genuinely cares whether you walk out happy, Atomic Empire is where you go. Just be warned.
