I discovered this place very recently and it is great. The owners are knowledgeable of the games they sale and the rules in regards to them. Several free tables for Magic Players and several different Terrains got 40K Warhammer players. If you are looking for a new magic group to play with stepping away from all the competitive games; this place is great to go to. It offers several different levels of magic playing. This store is awesome! They have a decent selection and most importantly (to me) what they had in the dnd and witchborne section was very hard to find (if not impossible) elsewhere. Perhaps my favorite gaming store in all of Milwaukee, especially for wargaming. Their stock is fairly standard - mostly Games Workshop and Magic, along with Marvel Crisis Protocol, First Blood, and Star Wars: Legion and numerous board games, but the staff is willing to figure out if they can special... Perhaps my favorite gaming store in all of Milwaukee, especially for wargaming. Their stock is fairly standard - mostly Games Workshop and Magic, along with Marvel Crisis Protocol, First Blood, and Star Wars: Legion and numerous board games, but the staff is willing to figure out if they can special order anything from their distributors if you ask. Speaking of staff - I’ve never had anything less than a friendly and helpful interaction whenever I’ve stopped in. Everyone working there (owners and staff) is passionate about some of the nerdiest stuff possible, and if they can’t help you with something, they’ll figure out who can, even if it’s another store. Play spaces are clean and well-lit, and it’s a fairly diverse crowd that comes in. The big draw here is the community and play spaces - people are friendly, there’s usually someone painting or doing hobby stuff, and they try to host regular game nights for some of their bigger games, along with a hobby night. They also are awesome about trying to connect people for games - I’ve played everything from Battlefleet Gothic to SPQR there, and people have been interested in new games if someone is demoing them. I’ve also never felt uncomfortable there - it can be really hard to find gaming and nerd spaces that are female, queer, or trans-friendly, but they’re fantastic about fostering a fun, open, and safe environment. Their Facebook and Discord communities are good for scheduling, and they tend to run several organized play leagues during a given year, with a mix of store-run and patron-run options. People also seem to like trying new games. Parking is still pretty bad, but on-street parking and being willing to move if you need to can really help mitigate it. Show less

I don’t think I can rave about this place enough. My fiancé is friendly with the staff of the shop and started taking me a few months ago to learn MTG. I have never been to a geek oriented space that was more warm and welcoming. Friendly and attentive staff, great prices, and just a great atmosphere. As a woman in geek oriented spaces like comic book shops and game stores can be intimidating and isolating. But here the owners and staff work hard to create a genuinely inclusive environment and it reflects in the community of customers that regularly come to the shop. If you’re a seasoned gamer as fiancé is or new like me, I can’t imagine a better local business to support. I’ve made some great friends and memories in just a short time and it’s become one of my favorite places to be. Show less

I dropped in today after 5. I wanted to grab some EOE MTG product. I was unable to grab a bundle, or a prerelease kit. Which are totally 100% acceptable. I just wanted a few packs, the employee compleatly ignored me after telling me there were no more bundles and that he was unsure of the price of ... Read more

I just wanted a few packs, the employee compleatly ignored me after telling me there were no more bundles and that he was unsure of the price of a prerelease kit or if he could sell me one, and never even offered to help me find any of the new EOE product. I spent a while looking at their shelves and was unsucessful in locating any product. As I went out of my way to try and locate the product it became clear the employees warhammer game was more imporyant than a couple hundred bucks in a mtg sale. Worst game store customer service I have had in a while. I will locate another shop and try again. Show less

Large tables for miniature games, shelves stocked full of paints l, minis, cards, brushes. I even got my hands on a box of Shatterpoint figures I haven't been able to find in my own town. The owner was extremely kind, a fan of tabletop games, and even introduced me to a new miniature game that looks amazing! The second I walked into Battle Brothers I knew I was home. Howard(owner I believe) was very welcoming. The vibes are just right, the place is very welcoming and inviting. Plenty of people playing MTG, and 40K. All had a friendly vibe. I wish I had a battle brothers back home, and I ensure you that I will be making the trek from Southside Chicago just to be able to hang here. Piece of advise to other hobbyist, you are doing your self a disservice by not being a patron. Show less
