It's queer-friendly 🏳️🌈, the food is affordable and good quality, and there are vegetarian options. The long-haired waiter is lovely; just be polite and order a small amount, like in any other board game bar (I'm really surprised by the negative comments about him, to be honest). Show less

It's impossible to be bored here. Pros and cons from an anglophone perspective: Pros: -So many games to choose from that it makes me sad to realise one lifetime is not enough to play them all. -Food and drink is priced as if there doesn't happen to be a plethora of games to play with your friends. That is: their prices compete, and well, against other nearby bars that *don't* feature a huge stack of games to play. And waaay cheaper than the Capitole area. -Staff are consistently friendly and seem to love what they do. They're more than happy to speak English of they can, or find a translator somewhere. -Not cramped. You'll have enough space to yourself no matter where you sit, and there's enough space to move around. -Atmosphere is great, everyone's having fun. -There's a Lego Millennium Falcon inside one of the tables. -The burgers are great (only thing I've eaten there...) -The decor is properly nerdy and properly high-quality, even beautiful in places, with custom art all over the walls. -The front door makes you feel like you're in Game of Thrones. -Seriously, a *ton* of games to choose from, for all ages and tastes. -LEGO MILLENNIUM FALCON w00t! Cons: -The vast majority of games are in French. This hasn't bothered me so far, but just be aware. It might be tricky to attempt a completely new game here when it's busy and the staff don't have a half-hour to help you. -No Gloomhaven 🤨 10/10 will be going again Show less

There is also a reasonable amount of good beers to try and the service is agreeable. If you like board games you should not miss this place.

The game collection is impressive, many different boards or cards games are available. However, the state of some games is disappointing. Example: we've played Shadow Hunters and the instructions page was almost destroyed. We've also played Munchkin and Skull king, and the cards were dirty and sticky. Naturally, the cards are in this state because many people play them, which means the place is really nice and popular. In summary, I recommend the place for having a good time playing with friends with nice food and drinks. I would like the Bar to renew their game collection to have newer and cleaner games. The food and drinks are okay and worth the price. Show less

Or pay 20E, and access all the games for a full year. Being a teetotaler, I can't speak for the quality of their alcohol, but they do serve non-alcoholic drinks (quite sugary ones, though). The only two downsides I can see are meals being only available after 6:30PM or so and that it's so good it has a tendency to be full during the workweek (so you'd better make a reservation). Parking can be another issue, since the spots near the bar are at the regular city parking price (it means they're free after 7PM, I believe. Definitely free on Sundays. Expensive otherwise), but the place is easily accessed by public transport. Show less

Despite being left on my own, in a city where I don't speak the language, I was able to find friends in the most unusual places. One of these places was BlastoDice, a former Moroccan restaurant turned into a board game bar. For those looking to play games with friends there are almost 500 games to choose from and for those traveling abroad and speak very little French, the staff are very fluent in English. Furthermore the beers on tap are really good and those in bottles from far off places such as Corsica. The history of the bar is interesting and the artwork original (done by local friends) and most of the customers are regulars who all know one another (giving the bar a homely feel). Thanks are necessary to the owners of BlastoDice, Fabian and Francois for all the times spent talking about politics, religion, culture, for teaching me traditional French games such as 421, Dutch games like Krone un Kragen and the exchange of opinions on French and American people. I have never met such an interesting group of French men, learned so many French sayings and felt so welcome on my French travels. I will be back my friends!!! - Bryce Show less

We were 9 people and we book a table to enjoy some time together before holidays. While we wait for everyone we didn't order anything and this waiter freaked out. When my friends were arriving he was already crazy, almost crying that we didn't order anything. If you charge already 2€ for playing, you should be more flexible in these terms. And to take into account that not everyone arrived. I had already come to this place before and never had this problem with the girls waiters. I hope this guy can learn how to treat your customers and don't loose 9 of them in 10 min. Show less
