7 years agoLove the shop it operates like a club so it feels like a more mature environment. It has a ton of board games and concessions as well has hobby stations to do my painting at!

When the term local friendly store applies to perfection. I had a one night layover at Houston (I live in Montreal). I couldn't find the store due to a huge storm. Caz (I hope your name is spelled correctly!) was super kind and delivered the game I was looking for months in person with his own car. He went above and beyond, THANK YOU! Now I'm travelling back to Canada with a game that it's almost impossible to find, eager to play with my friends. If I ever come back to Houston, I'll visit the store for sure. Show less

Caz (I hope your name is spelled correctly!) was super kind and delivered the game I was looking for months in person with his own car. He went above and beyond, THANK YOU! 7 years agoThis place is awesome! The manager, James, is very helpful and he does whatever he can to make everyone feel welcome. I love the environment here. I would recommend Board and Brews to anyone that loves playing games with friends.

I have played and worked at a lot of game stores in Houston since 2011. I have to say that Board and Brew is where gaming is at. A great community from all walks of life, with a vast and varying degrees of knowledge of games, lore and hobbying. Great blend of casual and competitive players (a term I use loosely, because if you are playing a game, you are competing...congrats!). The staff are on point, they help you with game knowledge and hobby related questions. They have two hobby areas, one that lets you airbrush and try out paints before buying; and another area in the main game room; both with multiple lamps. Best terrain in Houston, hands down. I challenge you to find a single store with some expert level of painted and constructed terrain. You wont find it. Last bit that I can praise them for...always having 15% of gaming/hobby product (not snacks). Thats worth the drive. Show less

A great community from all walks of life, with a vast and varying degrees of knowledge of games, lore and hobbying. 2 years agoDon’t let the area fool you. Industrial yes, but that’s where you find gems sometimes. Very good community in this joint. Super solid tables to play on with plenty of dynamic terrain. BYOB thanks to the church nearby but other than that, worth going to. Awesome friendly staff!
