1 year agoJust awesome. Excellent coffee! Great food, friendly staff, TONS of games. Atmosphere is busy but were had no problem hearing each other and focusing on the game, even when cafe full. We drove out from Vancouver and will do so again!

6 years agoGreat space, solid games selection, surprisingly good food, drinks, and coffee! I appreciate how staff come over to offer instructional assistance, keep your game space clear of dishes, and keep a tab of all your food. Very reasonable cover charge. Big tables. I hope they stay open for years!

4 years agoFirst time visiting the cafe, it has such a chill vibe going on, groups are playing their board games. You can get both hot and cold drinks with snacks to. The charge is just $5 for as many board games you want to play. Great hangout place for friends! p.s. the chai latte was amazing!

DND Camp is Hit & Miss - I sent my son to two DND camps at this cafe. The first one during March break of 2025: he came home every day just bubbling over with stories about the epic things that happened, the crazy things his character could do and the amazing feats he accomplished. That is the proper experience of DND. I was very pleased, so I signed him up for the summer camp at the end of August 2025. It could not have been more different. The owner of the shop ran the camp himself, because he told the kids that "hiring DMs is expensive" (according to my son, he actually said that!). On a side note: what the heck did I pay the crazy high fee for then? But worse than that, this DM set the players up in a campaign in which violent acts were prohibited. It was some kind of competition - the players' party was competing with other parties for points if they accomplished some challenges or something, and if they killed anything, or acted in a way that the DM decided was violent, they were threatened with disqualification. My son had a spell that he thought was really funny because he could use it to cause feces to appear in somebody's pants. He's 10. But the DM wouldn't allow him to do that, saying it would be considered a violent act. So my son didn't do anything then entire game, because he was afraid that he or the party would get disqualified. So bravo, DM, you created an environment of fear, rather than fun. On top of that, the other parties in the competition were far beyond the skill levels of the players' party. They started out at level 1, and they managed to complete ONE challenge. ONE. But in that challenge, they were competing against a level 5 party! DM, there's this thing in DND called "challenge rating" - you don't seem to understand the concept, but then you don't seem to understand the concept of DND in general - you're a control freak. Here are my suggestions: 1. Hire a competent DM - I expect no less for the fee I paid. 2. Spend less time painting minis - it's not a painting minis camp, and not every player wants to paint them. Just provide some painted minis already - run a different camp if you want to teach painting. 3. Let the players have fun and be free. 4. If you're considering signing up for one of these camps in the future, ask them if the owner will be running the camp as the DM. If he is, stay far away - I know I will. Show less

Organizing the entire game to even be able to play- 20 mins of organizing this mess of a game, still no one came over to take our order or suggest a game or anything. My boyfriend went to the bathroom and I was talked to finally - and was told they were closing down and asking for last call. Felt completely awkward and it was just straight up rude. Would DEFINITELY suggest to go to another place. The board games are a messy disaster (unless a customer has organized it for them- like I did) and the atmosphere did not feel like a welcoming place at all. Cute cafe though. Wish I got to try the food. Show less

I so much wanted to give this place a 5 star across the board. They are first and foremost a games cafe. But they fell flat on the food. I mean they pulled a stinker. We explained meticulously that my son is a celiac and could not have wheat. We agreed that a small cup of corn nachos would be delivered instead. What came to our table? Wheat bread. The conversation was literally 4 minutes before. The two dishes we ordered were small and outrageously priced. I really want to see this place survive so I understand the they need to charge more for food. And they don't even have a kitchen. The formula for me would be: eat beforehand but visit more often. The place is clean and has some private rooms for groups. Great game selection. Apparently they have a games master but no one came by while we visited. It wasn't busy. Show less

The official release date was December 5, 2025. More than a week after the release date, I first called the store to ask about the status of my order, as there had been no updates. I was told to email them, which took a couple days for them to reply. After a couple more weeks, i emailed them again with no response. I called the store for clarification, I was then informed that the distributor did not supply them with enough product, which they knew about in early December. Despite knowing this, the store did not notify customers or provide any updates. I was also told that approximately 68 pre-orders were affected. Because of this, i missed out ordering from Walmart and EBgames as I thought I've secured a product already. In short, the store held customer funds for several months interest-free, only to cancel the orders without proactive communication. This lack of transparency and follow-up makes pre-ordering here a poor experience. Show less
