I've been going to Bookmans for decades and now I go with my 10 year old who loves it too. They have a great volume of books, records, comics, DVD, blue ray, books, video games and systems, guitars and tons more. They're prices aren't bad and they do trade credit and cash so I usually keep some trade credit to buy random things there because they have a huge variety that always changes because things are constantly coming and going. Action figures, pokemon cards, tons of DND/ role playing. Definitely worth checking out! Show less

I've been going to Bookmans for decades and now I go with my 10 year old who loves it too. They have a great volume of books, records, comics, DVD, blue ray, books, video games and systems, guitars and tons more. They're prices aren't bad and they do trade credit and cash so I usually keep some trade credit to buy random things there because they have a huge variety that always changes because things are constantly coming and going. We didn't go in with the purpose of buying anything, but we could have bought something in every section of the store. The only reason I'm not giving this spot a five star review is that it was very overwhelming to just look through everything in the store, so I want other visitors to be aware that they need to be prepared to potentially spend a couple hours here. Got a Silver Age comic book out of the locked glass case and the employee insisted that they take it up to the front cashier so it couldn’t be “tampered with.” Ten minutes later of browsing through mostly junk that belongs in a landfill, I go up to pay for my one item. Unfortunately, some other customer saw it lying in temporary hold and bought my item! I couldn’t believe how irresponsible the store staff and management are at this location. I really enjoy these type of shops that value collectibles and unique items. Would constantly come in to buy records, books, and funkos. Over that last 6months the staff have gotten worst over time. Idk if they’ve done this so long without good pay, poor work environment or what but staff always seem on edge with any question or assistance. They have zero care for a positive experience and think that the cool items will replace their poor customer service. Very disappointed in my last interaction and wouldn’t have shared this experience if the (Anissa)wouldn’t have been rude and ignore my question. I feel bad for individuals this sad and upset with their life. Management should find a way to recognize and retrain staff. Show less

I haven’t been here since I was around child, but came today to exchange some things. Since I wanted to get rid of things I got for college and other things I’ve had. Only wanted/were interested in a few of my items which wasn’t the problem. Came home to one of my breakable collectible piece broken and cracked like it’s been dropped. Nothing was said to me at the store of what happened. But I do know for a fact is when I brought it to them, it was unbroken and like-new, and *bubble wrapped.* Needless to say, I’m upset. Since this place brought me joy in my younger years from just visiting twice before, to only be shattered by this when I’m older. </3 Show less

Went today to sell my themed Tarot cards and was offered only $5 for 3 well taken care of or like new tarot card decks. Shouldn't have excepted the offer when I originally paid $30 for each. I should have let them keep the one that was actually worth $5 and took my business elsewhere. I plan to from here on out or sell things online. Show less

I loved this place when I worked at the Anasazi Foundation back in the late 90s, and just wanted to see if they still had a whole section just on Medieval History (they do). I found a translation and commentary on Beowulf by J.R.R. Tolkien here in 1996. Since I was in Mesa visiting, I came back specifically to see if they had it again. And found 2 copies! Not in hardback this time, but still epic! So many great finds here that uou won't see in most bookstores. Lots of vinyl records, blue ray, and console games here too! Show less

I loved this place when I worked at the Anasazi Foundation back in the late 90s, and just wanted to see if they still had a whole section just on Medieval History (they do). I bought a few goodies to take back home to North Carolina as souvenirs for family and friends. I love the unique items you can find there! One thing I noticed, though, was that sometimes they do price things at the same price or higher than if you bought it new. I asked one of the workers about it and showed them the comparison and she said they price according to what it costs at the time they receive the item and they don't price match and went ahead to tell me I can go buy it cheaper, new at the other store. I still ended up paying the higher price they had because I had the credit to use up ☹️. Show less
