The concept was good and we enjoyed it but the Nolf wasn’t well maintained, there were no Nurf bullets available, some games/parts were out of order and the scoring systems didn’t work on most games (when applicable). Our instructor, Billy, was a laugh, really nice guy who was really easy to talk to. The hour passed by so quickly, with any of the staff we dealt with being really friendly and nice. 100% recommended. Nice staff, clean facilities, reasonable prices. Just a word of note - axe throwing is a sober activity for safety reasons. Didn't bother us as it was the start of the day, but if you were planning it later in the day, it's worth a note to prevent disappointment for your night out. Show less

We booked the "bullseye and bevvies" corporate package for a work event. This was supposed to include 2 hours of games and we had darts, pool and shuffleboard booked. When we arrived we were told that we wouldn't be getting the shuffleboard we had booked, and would only get pool and darts running concurrently for 1 hour (so half the amount of time that we had paid for). We did manage to negotiate 1 hour each on darts and pool with staff to keep everyone occupied for the 2 hours, but didn't get any shuffleboard. We were only given 2 lanes of darts and 2 pool tables between nearly 30 people, so it wasn't really the "fierce competition and guaranteed fun" that we were promised, and was unworkable for a group of this size. A few people didn't get their welcome drinks as it was a bit of a battle to find the staff member that dealt with that (didn't really get the "dedicated host" that the package promised). The drinks token system worked well though. Food was good and was plentiful. Overall though, we felt as though it was very poor value for money at almost £70 a head. It felt like they had overbooked the activities, or would rather make money twice by opening games up to walk ins. We would be unlikely to return after our experience, which was pretty mediocre. Given most were standing chatting rather than playing games, we would have been as well going to an ordinary bar, and would have saved a lot of the £1800 we spent having an underwhelming time in Boom Battle Bar. Would not recommend. Show less

Visited Boom Battle Bar Glasgow recently there is definitely plenty to do and it’s a good spot if you’re looking for a lively night out. We tried the axe throwing and pool, which was fun overall, but one of the target boards for axe throwing kept falling off which took a bit of the shine off the experience. About an hour in, the music was suddenly turned up to what felt like full volume. It made it really hard to hear or talk to anyone, even right next to you, which spoiled the atmosphere a bit and we ended up moving on to another venue. There’s a great range of activities and it’s got a good vibe if you like something energetic, but it’s definitely on the expensive side for what you get. Worth trying once, but a few tweaks could make it much better. Show less

Talked us through each game we had booked. First we had the Axe throwing - 30mins. We had never done this before so Alec talked us through it all. Great fun, absolutely recommended. 30 mins was more than enough time for 2 people. The only thing I will say is the board was quite used and some of the shots didn’t stay on the board but didn’t affect our fun. Next we moved on to the Augmented darts 25mins. It was okay. Foam board with a projector displaying what games you can play. Easy enough to change games if you want to try another. Personally not for us but still fun. We then moved on to Nolf. That was fun. Lots of different challenges and skills to manoeuvre around. Finally we played the American Pool. Can’t go wrong with that. Good quality tables and plenty available. Food and Drink are available, reasonably priced. The cost for our afternoon was a fair price and Student Discount is accepted. All round great day, attentive staff. Bethany and Alec especially. We asked for a fresh portion, and were given a plate of <20 stale chips (although they were at least hot!). Toilet seats in Ladies were all wonky and one of the cubicles had vomit on the wall. The Buzz Wire game was a health hazard with exposed electrical wires which my husband got a shock from. Karaoke Booth is tiny, had 2 bar stools for seating, giant windows looking into the bar, was not soundproof and was in the centre of a busy part of the bar (and cost £9pp). The foam was peeling off the walls and there were multiple discarded drinks on the floor. I'm general, the places just seemed tired and in need of a clean and an upgrade.
