A staff member called Happy made our night! He was so so lovely, made us feel so welcome and relaxed (especially before axe throwing!) and he was such a vibe! A real asset to the team! ⭐ 1-Star Review – Boom Battle Bar Leeds We visited on 15th November for my partner’s birthday. I booked bottomless brunch plus four activities, £152 in total. The whole experience was a mess from the moment we walked in. We were dumped at a tiny, wobbly plank of a “table” shoved right next to the DJ booth, with the speakers blasting directly at us. You couldn’t hear yourself think, never mind enjoy a drink or have a conversation. The timings were already tight because I’d deliberately booked everything to follow on smoothly, 90 minutes of bottomless brunch from 4pm, then golf at 6pm, then the rest. Even if we’d stayed, the 40 minutes of waiting with no cocktails would’ve thrown the entire schedule into chaos. It just wasn’t workable. This wasn’t just one part of the night ruined, I’d lined up the whole evening with the brunch and four activities following on from each other, which was a substantial chunk of our evening we were really looking forward to. Instead we walked out after a disappointing start and had to rebuild the entire night from scratch in Leeds city centre. To make matters worse, the guy on the front desk mentioned that our axe throwing was basically void because they don’t allow anyone under the influence to take part. Completely fair, that’s their policy, and I’ve since found it on the site. But it’s ridiculous that the system even allows you book bottomless brunch and axe throwing together, if they know it can’t happen. 30 minutes in and no drinks in sight, I ended up going to the bar just so we had something to sip on while we waited. While I was at the bar, I saw a member of staff talking to my partner and assumed the cocktails had finally shown up. Nope. Forty minutes in, still nothing, just an additional £28 down on top of everything At that point we’d had enough. We finished the drinks I’d queued for and went straight to the front of house for a refund. To be fair, they were apologetic and admitted they’d had issues before we arrived. They confirmed the £152 would be returned and encouraged us to leave an honest review, so here it is. The whole thing was chaotic, unorganised, and completely disappointing, especially for a birthday we were looking forward to celebrating there. Total nightmare from start to finish. Between games, we often had to search for staff to find out where to go next, which resulted in lost game time while waiting. Izzy showed us step by step how to axe throw and was very supportive and encouraging even when we threw awfully. 😅 We won a free game of shuffleboard which was really fun and then went on to do mini golf which was fun, but a little shoddy in areas. The scaffold safety bars on some of the holes were loose, one of the holes (5) is known for stealing your ball and some of the holes just make for poor play due to how they are set out. Cocktails were lovely, (though not cheap at around £12 each), would recommend "life's a peach". Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat here. We came on a friday evening just before 10, the venue wasn't empty but it wasn't buzzing with people. We enjoyed it like this as we could move around the games as and when we liked. All in all a great night, I would recommend for couples, friends and family days out. Izzy deserves a promotion for her interaction with guests! Show less

My friend booked an axe throwing session as a surprise. It was absolutely brilliant, haven't laughed so much in ages. The host, Jamal, was brilliant. Full of positively and praise when I continually failed to throw the axe so that it would lodge into the wall. It could have been uncomfortable being so rubbish but it wasn't. He's a credit to the company and added to great night. We will definitely return and hopefully we'll have Jamal as our host again. We had a great time, the axe throwing was great fun and the axe staff were fabulous! The food came out in between activites, which only left us with a half hour shuffleboard session (I had specified when booking we would have food after both activities). I was advised by the corporate party planning phone line that we would be asked on arrival, so to just let the staff at the venue know. After addressing this with the manager, we were told they couldn't extend our session, due to being very busy with christmas parties. However, when they realized how displeased we were with the response, they actually came through. We were given the remainder of our time split between a beer pong table and a pool table, that were luckily available. So, all in all, when we had an issue, it was resolved to our satisfaction. We had such a fun afternoon, all our colleagues enjoyed it and said they would happily return. All 10 of us would certainly recommend the venue to others. Thank you Show less

I had such a brilliant experience at Boom Battle Bar thanks to Izzy, our axe-throwing host. From the moment the session started, she made everyone feel relaxed and confident. I really struggled at first and found the instructions hard to follow, but Izzy was so patient and understanding. She explained everything clearly, never made me feel silly for asking questions, and repeated things as many times as I needed without any hesitation. Even though I was probably the worst axe thrower there, she kept encouraging me and celebrating the small wins. Her energy and attitude made the whole experience so much fun. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does and wants everyone to have a great time. She’s also an incredible axe thrower herself, easily the best I’ve seen and has such a strong, positive presence that lifts the whole room. Izzy turned something I was nervous about into one of the highlights of my night. She truly deserves all the credit for making it such a great experience. Show less

Atmosphere was great, food was decent to, but Jake our waiter was super friendly and importantly made sure we made the most of our brunch, which made a refreshing change from others brunches I’ve done in Leeds where you have to pretty much fight to find a waiter to get your next drink. Was a little disappointed when we found out we couldn’t do the axe throwing after the brunch due to alcohol consumption, which is a bit odd as I booked both online together back to back. What made up for it though was how Jack and other team members resolved the situation for us, hooked us up with mini golf instead and a free round of drinks!. Had a lovely first visit with a friend a week ago. Very busy vibrant atmosphere for a Thursday night and our first try at axe throwing. We were privileged to have the lovely Jamal as our host on our cage. He was encouraging, helpful and felt like part of the group with his natural warmth and sense of humour. Would definitely have felt a little more terrified and scored less without his support and guidance. Other staff were very friendly too. Definitely a place I’d recommend to and will be returning to in the future. Can’t comment on food as we never ate there. Show less

Had a lovely first visit with a friend a week ago. Very busy vibrant atmosphere for a Thursday night and our first try at axe throwing. We were privileged to have the lovely Jamal as our host on our cage. He was encouraging, helpful and felt like part of the group with his natural warmth and sense of humour. Would definitely have felt a little more terrified and scored less without his support and guidance. Other staff were very friendly too. What a fab night, amazing atmosphere and a great choice of fun activities to do. We booked Axe throwing and Emily hosted our game. Emily was a super star so easy to get along with and made the experience worth while. Explained everything in detail and gave amazing encouragement and lots of laughs. J... Read more

What a fab night, amazing atmosphere and a great choice of fun activities to do. We booked Axe throwing and Emily hosted our game. Emily was a super star so easy to get along with and made the experience worth while. Explained everything in detail and gave amazing encouragement and lots of laughs. Joined in our crazy banter 😂 All staff were very helpful. Couldn’t rate food as we didn’t try any but from what we saw other people having it looked great and smelt good too. Only negative toilets could do with some general maintenance. Show less

We visited Boom Battle Bar for our works Christmas do and had a great experience. It’s a brilliant venue with good prices and extremely friendly staff throughout. Some of our team were delayed travelling over from the east coast due to heavy snow, but when we spoke to the lady in charge on the day ... Read more

We visited Boom Battle Bar for our works Christmas do and had a great experience. It’s a brilliant venue with good prices and extremely friendly staff throughout. Some of our team were delayed travelling over from the east coast due to heavy snow, but when we spoke to the lady in charge on the day she was more than happy to move our slot back by half an hour so we didn’t miss out. We couldn’t have been more grateful for how accommodating and understanding she was. The axe throwing trainers were helpful, friendly, and made the experience really enjoyable. After that, we had a great game of interactive darts and a couple of drinks. As it was just after the Christmas period and close to a delivery date, a few items were out of stock — but working in the industry ourselves, we completely understood. The staff member was still incredibly apologetic and went out of her way to recommend alternatives, with a bit of friendly banter thrown in, which we really appreciated. A great place with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back again. Show less
