3 years agoExcellent mead and great flight deal for $10! Bar tender was also awesome and they have board games available too. Keep in mind they have no food options in house, although you can order in through a neighboring restaurant.

3 years agoReally delicious mead with friendly, knowledgeable staff! It's also really great how they feature so many other local craft beverage producers as well with a decent selection of local beers available and local spirits in their mixed drinks.

Great place for local mead and craft beer. They have a great selection of meads that they make in house. Would definitely recommend trying one of their meads. Each one I tried was delicious and the bartender/brewer is really knowledgeable and passionate about what he makes and will steer you towards something you’d like if mead is new to you. If mead is not your thing they have plenty of craft beers from the area as well as local wines, liquor and cider. So no matter who you bring they will find something they can drink. The place itself is nice and clean with a nice sized bar as well as several tables. They have a selection of board games as well. The only thing to note is that they do not offer any food as of writing this. So make sure to eat before. Overall great local meadery that’s worth visiting especially if you never had mead before. 2 years agoPretty neat place! Just be mindful- to take mead home is $40 a can. We definitely didn't expect to pay $100 for two flights and two cans, but it was a neat place to check our en route! Call ahead to make sure they have enough mead in stock :)

Not only did he explain the mead varieties and ingredients very well, but he was also knowledgeable about the local beer selections they offered, many of which are available in cans from the cooler. I saw the Bull and Bee tasting table I tried some “sweet Meade” delicious! (They were set up at the Albany, capitol, concourse, farmers market) I was invited to come the tasting room just a few blocks away later that evening. A friend of mine was coming to visit the Albany area that night and we were looking for a “good time, experience” to enjoy together. This was perfect! We started our night at the Bull and Bee tasting room. We ordered flights of Meade, we tried a bunch of flavors. We tried Coffee, spicy, sweet, classic… and more. Amazing! And delicious! Upon entering the tasting room, we were greeted by the bartender/owner Ray. An amazing and welcoming soul. We got to talking about the different flavors that they offer and their bottling process. Right from the beginning we were treated as though we were already friends/family and felt like we had known each other for years. Stopping at the bull and bee and starting our night here was a catalyst beginning to one of the best nights I have had in years, there was a concert venue just down the street that was having a metal show which complemented the mead that we had purchased from the tasting room perfectly. I came back the very next day and bought a couple bottles. Delicious product, highly recommended. Perfect location, warm inviting atmosphere. 10/10 thanks! Show less

11 months agoMead here is top quality. I've never been a fan of mead. Let me tell you, this place changed my mind. It is very, very good. They have different flavors every time I've been here. Always take a bottle home. They have their own honey for sale. A must stop while in Albany.

3 years agoWhat a great place. On a whim we stopped there as we were curious about trying mead. We ended up playing the trivia that is there every Sunday and our team won and walked away with a bottle of mead. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Albany.

I've been looking forward to this establishment opening and I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and pleasant, chatty without overstaying their welcome. The meads were delicious and varied, and the beers were local or regional. Seating inside was cozy but well-spaced, and outdoor seating was generous. The music ran a great playlist of new and classic rock; "Sympathy for the Devil" rolled as we soaked up the warm spring breeze on some robust metal chairs. Their were even some very diesel benches and stools along the building, trying to maximize the space. Street parking was ample, just pull around the corner and sidle along the curb, but watch the cobblestones if you're sporting heels. Their house mead, "The Muse," was light and sweet, a glass of afternoon sunshine offering a floral bouquet with hints of licorice, reminiscent of Sambuca. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. Overall, the ambiance here is casual and secluded-- great for a date where you've lost three hours chatting before you even realize it. It's a treasure in the downtown space that I hope we get to enjoy for years to come. Why not go buy drink and help make sure that happens. Show less
