The owner is really nice, and takes great care of his customers. It also has a nice bit of that 'Cheers Vibe' in that I walked in recently after having not been there for a long while, and Dan Hoffman (had to namedrop, I'll explain) called me over by name. This may not seem like much to most of you, but I've cleverly disguised myself in several hundred more lunches and dinners since the last time he saw me. So, all in all, very impressive recall. And a fun little store. I definitely recommend a visit! Show less

Amazing local game store selling board games, video games, magic/pokemon/other card games, great staff, d&d club, multiple events every week. Definitely check it out! Sometimes they do great deals on used board games when their stock is overflowing!

They even have a large selection of used games. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel at home. I found the store because I wanted to play a Friday Night Magic draft and was pleasantly surprised. The customers are also friendly and welcoming, and they treated me well during the draft. (I played terribly, but they helped me.) This is important because sometimes players can be arrogant jerks, but I felt right at home among friends. I'll be going back. Show less

First off, they do exist! They've been here for 15 years and I never knew about them. It's a smaller location and they have the basics from Sega SNES to PS2, 3 and 4 games 360 Xbox and Wii. Also tabletop and Trading cards too. Give them a visit

I like it a lot. My only problem is that it's a little cramped, but overall it's a nice place to buy something gaming related, or play one yourself. I especially like mini paint night

Canton Games, an average-sized spot with a good collection of retro games. The friendly staff adds to the experience, making it a pleasant visit if you happen to be in the area and appreciate classic games

This shop is truly a gem in Baltimore. Everyone that I have interacted with at this store has been so friendly and kind. I went for the first time during the fall sidewalk sale, and I definitely will be coming back because of how cozy the shop and people are. Additionally, in light of seeing Rob being dragged through the dirt (unjustifiably) in the most recent review before this, I wanted to say that Rob has been only amazing, understanding, and patient with me. Rob will be one of the main reasons I will return to this store. I was trying to get into Magic the Gathering and he gave me pointers to get started. When I came back the next day to play commander for the first time, he did NOT cheat. He's just there for a good time, not to necessarily win. Same goes for every other friendly face that came that Sunday for commander. Tell me how he would go so far to win by cheating with a deck that makes a ton of scarecrows and crows? He's not. He's just trying out commander builds that seem fun to see what works and what doesn't. Show less

Good selection of board games that are a little more exotic than the standard Walmart or Target offerings. Friendly person working when I stopped in. Easy to drive right past them, though, if you don't know they are there. There were several people playing something in the next room, but they were not being loud, obnoxious, or bringing down the vibe of the place, which is kind of rare I've noticed. If you're into card games, board games, or collecting old video games, definitely worth the stop. Show less

Excellent third space. Canton is a solid community of local gamers, catering towards board games, used video games, and card games (Magic, Lorcana). The shop owner Dan has been a staple part of the community for decades and is always welcoming for anyone who lives in Baltimore or to anyone even just passing through. Canton has, on numerous occasions, demonstrated a willingness to take a hit to their profits and sales if it means helping out newer players and making them feel welcome. Dan has made the most of the small space in the shop to maximize positive gaming experience and retail. The local players who regularly show up are consistent at helping newer and younger players feel like they're playing right at home. Show less
