So the door to the funko pop place is across the one that has the sign Entertainment Hobby Shop and Cosplay costumes. It's a totally separate door. I thought it's a different store but our receipt and the business card says EHS. Anyway, we spent time and money more than we expect. We really had fun! Show less

Tucked in an unfortunately placed basement next to an unglamorous alleyway. The store itself does it's best, and for a long time it was the only reliable place to find figures and plushies. But now there's so much competition that it rides on veteran anime store status. It's seen better days. It used to be that you could buy things without needing your ID. I also think the manga selection is neat, but not well stocked when it comes to number ones. And it feels like it's missing some vital series, can't really place my finger on what exactly. The DVD selection feels like it could do with more, but it's better than no DVDs like most other stores in Little Tokyo. In the same basement there's another Anime Jungle entirely focused on Gunpla and mecha in general. And another one focused on trading cards. The variety is pretty good. When you buy a manga here, you select it and a store employee puts it behind the counter for you. I don't know if that's how they do it for the other items. When I visited recently, the cashier was extremely stressed out 30 minutes after opening. My condolences to you, cashier. This place is a must visit for that authentic Downtown LA experience, especially if you like anime. You have to see it for yourself. Show less

Tucked in an unfortunately placed basement next to an unglamorous alleyway. The store itself does it's best, and for a long time it was the only reliable place to find figures and plushies. But now there's so much competition that it rides on veteran anime store status. It's seen better days. It used to be that you could buy things without needing your ID. I also think the manga selection is neat, but not well stocked when it comes to number ones. And it feels like it's missing some vital series, can't really place my finger on what exactly. Some blond girl with glasses had to check each item I had in my bag because I beeped going into the store. The bag was from another store and it was getting annoying she had to check it at least four times. I don’t know why she had to take everything out my bag and cut the sensor off and proceeded to embarrass me in front of the whole store and my friends. How could I have stolen stuff if I just walked in. After almost 10 minutes of checking my items I had no urge to look at that store anymore. Sounds racially motivated to me and she made me feel uncomfortable. I left the store embarrassed and won’t be coming back to shop. Show less

My husband and I are avid Anime Figure collectors, we travel around the midwest area for conventions selling Anime Figures, we were recommended to Anime Jungle several times but was located in California, We made it our vacation trip to travel to Little Tokyo for this place. This place is Fantastic. The price is right, the employees are very friendly, the selections of figures are all around what you're looking for. Not just brand new figures were sold, but also pre-owned at a very low price! They also offered us purchases can be shipped to our home! (since it super costly to take on a plane back to Chicago) This was extremely convenient! We purchased till our hearts desired! My husband and I really enjoyed and was our highlight visiting California! We wish a store like this one existed in Chicago! :) as BIG as this one of course! :3 Show less

This place is great. I've been coming here for years only to look around. But last weekend I came in and decided to buy my first gundam kit and let me tell you I had fun assembling it. This little area in little Tokyo reminds me of Akihabara in the glory days before maid cafes took over. Alot of cool anime goods and world 8-2 retro video game store is there as well. I purchased an expensive 2nd hand figure from here (costing several hundred). Cashier had unboxed it for me to examine the condition before ... Read more

Ive purchased here before with great interactions and fair prices however a recent interaction here left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be coming back. I purchased an expensive 2nd hand figure from here (costing several hundred). Cashier had unboxed it for me to examine the condition before I bought it but was extremely careless with it and probably damaged the box/figure even more. Parts of the figure fell out and on to the floor with loud thuds because of his inattentiveness and he didn't even react or care, picking it up after quite some time. He also hastily shoved the figure back into its box and consequently creased it. Im not one to make a scene or care much for small dings/resale value which is why I quickly paid and left but with a figure costing so much I would really appreciate it if it was treated with some kind of gentleness...
