Game Cafe is one of the best shops in all of Missouri for any of your board game, trading card, and event needs. The space is extremely cozy and welcoming as the workers are so friendly and helpful. Great local business in a good area that’s quickly become my go-to hobby shop in the KC area. Good vibes with a great selection of boardgames, tabletop, TTRPG, and TCG content; plus they’ve got a wide range of games available to play for sampling. The staff is always friendly and they’ve done a great job at cultivating a welcoming community in their customer base and at their events. It’s really nice place to hang out, shop, play games, and meet good people with a lot of space. Just wish they had every card I needed instead of most of them, just so I could give them more money. The lady behind the counter was very kind and polite in helping us find the trading cards we were looking for, and the rest of the store is truly a joy to walk through. Isaac, however, acted like we were utter scum and it was a complete chore to simply check us out at the register. I mean, maybe he didnt like what we were buying or that we brought our kids with us, but they were quiet and didnt touch anything in the store. I'm not really sure what his problem was. We will be returning, as we like the store and the products, as well as dealing with the other lady behind the counter. Show less

While there, test out any games that you or your friends have thought of buying but not sure about. Enjoy your time. Love the game. It's awesome you can go next door and buy a copy. There is no anxious environment, simply a bunch of helpful people looking to have a good time (Both staff and customers) a duo that you don't see very often in ANY shop - Affordable pricing/Always in Stock Being a card game player where certain product is hard to come by, Game cafe always seems to keep what is popular and relevant, IN STOCK! This is CRUCIAL as most times, the players they have coming here are not only competitive, but they're amongst the best in the city. To be great, you need tools. Game Cafe always makes sure people have the tools. And here's the kicker, its always msrp Family Friendly Being that I have attended this store since 2018, needless to say, I always feel safe and at home whenever I see Jonathan's and Zoe's face. They have a bunch to deal with but they always manage to keep the environment what it was meant to be. Somewhere you could bring your family. Whether it be for some purchases or to even play a game outside of the HOUSE, the aforementioned individuals as well as their staff, make that happen. They have a wall of jigsaw puzzles, I did not see a section dedicated to kids games. Lighter on accessories and accoutrements than cardboard corner Cafe on Metcalf. Gave my buddy 30 for his first 151 he pulled 2 Blastoise sar and a mew CRAZY LUCKY. Even though I kinda yelled in the store they allowed me to stay and let us get our share of 151 AT MSRP! Best place to go to in the area for Pokémon and what I’ve seen every other tcg. They are better than wholesaler... Read more
