Pretty cool place to go and eat snack style foods. The pulled pork was good but I've definitely had better. Salsa and chips were mediocre. It's a cool place to play games, board games and such, while you eat. Overall, decent restaurant.

Great concept, low key on a Tuesday. In a redeveloped area with good vibes.

We had the most incredible experience, we had a large group (11), got seated quickly, our server Nathan was incredible, helpful, funny, and speedy. Game Theory has a great little library of games, deliocus food, and wonderful drinks.

Such a fun concept! They have an excellent selection of board games, food, and drinks! You must try the parm fries + meat pies.

The selection of games was really diverse. It was happy hour so I had the Moscow mule and my wife had the margarita. We also had the rosemary truffle fries and the wings in firecracker and plain. The wings were juicy and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back.

I'd recommend to the Venue, if people frequent here, have an optional "Library Card". This Could include virtual check in and you pay monthly instead of paying $14 every visit right added to the bills total. While this is a cute place and I love the idea, im not sure when I would find myself back. I will say this venue is worth visiting, even if it's just once. Show less

They have many different games to choose from as well as some great bar beverages both alcoholic and nonalcoholic with the "mock" concoctions listed in the menu! The food was good but the service was rather slow as far as the wait staff checking on you at the table. Once they get busy, they also will start to limit time at the table. It's worth a visit if You're looking for a different, cool, relaxed yet fun atmosphere with a friend or family. I would personally recommend the drunk uncle as it was my favorite alcoholic beverage I had that evening. Show less

They have a vast amount of board games that are super fun and it helped me and my husband find new games to buy and play at home. The food was really delicious. We came during brunch time so we had a spicy chicken and waffles and a breakfast Sammy combo. We also had a few drinks too. Their drinks were really fun and inventive. I especially liked my passion punch because it reminded me of my childhood and capri sun. Would love to come here again with some friends to play and discover more games! Show less

A place like this could be gimmicky and serve crappy bar food and people would still probably come for the games. So it's a pleasant surprise when you get your food and it's actually killer. I got a breakfast sandwich at their brunch on Saturday and it was incredible. We've been back several times now and every time I get something different and I've yet to be disappointed. The pie flight is really good. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a good game selection. Prices are very reasonable. The best part to us is the atmosphere. It feels like an introvert-friendly bar. People are having fun and laughing but it's not like a normal bar scene full of chaos. It feels calmer and more relaxed. You can hear each other talk. Everyone sort of sticks to their own tables because they are into a game. My only reluctance in writing this is that it may convince more people to come and it will not be our secret anymore. I suppose that the owner probably wouldn't mind that though. This is a great place to bring a date. 10/10 Awesome 😎 Show less

This was my first time to go to a bar /restaurant that offered this type of entertainment! A very busy place, but wait staff was on their toes keeping customers happy. Food was excellent with nice portions in my opinion but the Alcoholic Drinks were weak plus they only had one young bartender. Games tend more toward the social type, with no serious wargames, but a pretty good selection of stuff outside of that category. They did have the games rated ( beginner/simple to complicated) for those trying out new things. Staff were friendly and I ate at the bar--ordered the Brussel sprouts and bbq sandwich. The sandwich was okay, but the sauce for it was a bit on the sweet side for me. The sprouts, on the other hand, were "da bomb." Definitely a must order item if you are into that ( and I am). It's not quite what I thought it was - I'm not sure if that's because my idea of what it was was off or the presentation of the establishment was off, but either way, this is a restaurant where you can play board games. Restaurant first, games second. My idea was something of the opposite, which is unfortunate, because that's what I wanted it to be. The food was good. Nothing to write home about, maybe a tad expensive, but good. Can't really find fault in it, it was reasonably tasty and fresh, charcuterie boards were good. Coffee was strong. Service was excellent, absolutely top notch! Well cared for and tended to, frequently checked on but not too much. Super friendly! Our bearded waiter was a 10/10! The restaurant was clean, bathrooms as well, and the decor was very nice for Christmas! I loved the lights on the ceiling and decorations! There were some bookshelves up front with board games in them for rent during the visit, but aside from a few shelves there wasn't a whole lot of nerd stuff around. This goes back to my first comment - it feels a bit backwards. Its a restaurant that has some board games, but honestly all of it feels like an afterthought. It's more of a Cafe with liquor and only drip coffee instead of a restaurant, and it's more of a gimmick board game rental with small restaurant tables rather than a nerd store with some food in it. It hasn't decided what it really wants to be yet, and thats unfortunate, becuase it dabbles in both but does neither well. The 4 person tables aren't even big enough to eat and play a game at the same time. Come here if you want to...eat a sandwich and maybe try a random board game with friends who aren't board game people. Maybe it'll work? Show less

We ate here on a very slow Monday night (literally the only table), and the two servers and bartender spent the majority of the time sitting at table across the restaurant on their phones, socializing with each other. We spent a good portion of the night trying to figure out how to get service without being rude, and ended up being neglected for most of the night. We were the only sat table for much of the time we were there (a couple hours.) She would eventually come around, but we knew if we needed something we were going to have to wait 20 min for her to check on us, or have to just get up and let her know we need refills or want to order something else. It’s really sad, I’ve been coming here for years. The food is great, but you should not have to watch the entire current waitstaff ignore you all night because they’re visibly sitting on TikTok. Especially when all the businesses on Main St are closing down left and right. I won’t be back, as a conscious choice, but I doubt I will even have a choice soon because I can’t see them staying in business after this experience. Also- both games we got (cards against humanity types of games) were so mixed up, we had to spend time re-organizing them before playing. I’ve never had this experience. They used to fix up the games and reorder them before putting them on the shelf. Show less

Our waiter was super attentive, and the menu had some great options—especially during happy hour. I don’t drink, so I really appreciated that they offered mocktails. I tried the Brussels sprouts and the BBQ chicken pizza, and both were delicious. They have a huge selection of games to choose from—you could keep coming back and always find something new to play. It started to get a bit busier inside around the time we were leaving, so it’s a great place to catch a vibe early and stay as things pick up. Whether it’s a date night, a night out with friends, or a fun family evening, I definitely recommend it. And if you can swing by during happy hour, you’ll really get your money’s worth! Show less

I should've asked first how it would be made. The chicken was moist but lacked flavor. The fries were nice and crispy. I rate my dish a 2/5. My wife ordered the Mini Pot Pie Combo (Chicken Pot Pie & Aussie Meat Pie). She enjoyed both, but the chicken was a bit dry. The Aussie Meat Pie was better than she thought, so she enjoyed, although she said it was salty towards the last few bites. My wife rates her dish a 3/5. I ordered popcorn chicken for my daughter and noticed she kept drinking her water. When I tried a piece of the chicken, it was very salty. The chicken was moist, but the batter it was fried in was salty. It was decent once I drenched it with ketchup. I rate the popcorn chicken a 3/5. Overall experience, I rate this place a 3☆. Everyone was very nice, the space was very interesting, but the food was what I was there for, and I don't think I'll be back. Show less

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the variety of board games you can play, but you can rarely finish a game faster than the food coming out. The truffle Mac and cheese was amazing and hot even after sitting for a few minutes and the tacos were tasty but filling. I'd recommend coming here with friends.

This was a complimentary experience We got there when they opened at 11 to make an afternoon of it. We were the only patrons in the place. There seemed to be one employee for the afternoon. It wasn’t a problem but that’s a lot for one person. She greeted us and showed us to our seat. I was surprised she didn’t ask where we would like to sit since the place was empty. We got a booth which was fine. The booth seats are just a piece of wood. The table seating has cushioned seats. She recommended drinks and we got 3 appetizers. I got the POTION NO. 9 $12 This Cosmic Lemonade has Blueberry Vodka, Aperol, Fresh Lemon Juice, and topped with Butterfly Tea. Instagram-worthy libation It is a BEAUTIFUL drink! I loved it. It is super sweet! We ordered the brussel sprouts, ceviche, and shrimp. They were all surprisingly excellent! We ate every bite. Waitress said it was a top seller. She recommended a couple of games and briefly explained 1 of them. I have been before and gotten much more help with gaming. I feel she could have asked us what we were looking for and then brought a few and explained. The only negative of the afternoon is that they should always leave extra napkins and wipe off and dry table when done with food. Our drinks made the table wet and we kept cleaning up and wiped down our own table after getting more napkins. It was a tad warm inside as well. Overall it was a lot of fun! Show less

It was my first time experiencing Game Theory, and I loved it. I’ve always been a fan of Near Southside, and it’s amazing how much it’s changed over the last few years. We enjoyed chicken and waffles, eggs, bacon, and sausage, plus a complimentary drink. There’s even a wall dedicated to games you can play. The space is small, cozy, and truly designed to bring people together. An amazing event—Made some new friends, and honestly… it doesn’t get much better than that. ❤️ Show less
