I love this place so much. As a total beginner to magic they have been so incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. In a culture that can skew exclusionary, they defy those notions in every way. It’s a place that I will keep coming back to again and again ! The layout of the shop makes it so fun to wander around with new discoveries around every corner. The staff is beyond lovely and will sit and chat with you and never gatekeep. They are genuinely excited which makes it so much easier to be excited about diving into this complex world! Very fair pricing. They truly care about the customer experience and you could tell the store itself has built a nice community. 100% recommend checking this place out. A very safe and secure environment for all age groups. Great spot to hang out with friends as well as meeting new people in the community that love to play games. The stock of card games from Yugioh, Pokemon, Magic, Vanguard, etc. are always up to date with the latest formats and new releases and are always plentiful for patrons to buy. They have it all. Special sneak peeks are held, as well as daily tournaments. And for you Gundam fans, there is a wide variety of Gunpla model kits for sale as well. Anime figures and merchandise is also available. I guarantee that anyone's first visit, they will find something that they like. By far the best and only game shop in Charlotte! I have been going to this shop for a good couple of years and I will continue to do so. A definite "must visit" for any gamer if you're ever in Charlotte. Show less

I went to Get Some Game yesterday to see if I could grab a few packs of the new Mega Evolutions set that came out the just the same day. To my surprise they were not selling booster boxes, but instead had them open and were selling packs individually at $8 each. They had bundles for $39.99 and ETBs for $79.99. Absolutely horrifying. These are the same prices that scalpers are charging. Only difference is that these people get their product straight from distributors and up charge us way above retail. I expressed discontent and the cashier seemed to care little. At the very same moment a kid ran in with his book bag on, sweating, saying he ran from his school after being dismissed for the day hoping to get some packs. He too was met with dismay after seeing the marked up prices. I stepped in and told the kid to just cover the retail price of $26 plus tax and I would cover the rest so he can have his bundle at a reasonable price. It’s people and businesses like this who are ruining the hobby. Please do not shop here if you are wanting reasonably priced collectibles including Pokemon TCG. I’ve been a customer for years but refuse to offer this place my business any longer. There are ways to combat scalping but becoming a scalper themselves is the reason I will no longer shop here. To my surprise they were not selling booster boxes, but instead had them open and were selling packs individually at $8 each. They had bundles for $39.99 and ETBs for $79.99. Absolutely horrifying. I went to this shop for the Gundam TCG Newtype Challenge Mission 2 event that I signed up for a while back. The store had not received its promotional cards for the event. I've played in several card game events and every other store either reschedules the event or makes an announcement on social media, website, or other platform they use to just let people know that they do not have the promo cards for the event. I had called the evening before the event just to check and make sure the Bandai App sign-up being successful guaranteed me a spot in the event as some stores do sign-ups in store only and the person on the phone made no mention that they didn't have the promo cards for the event. They said they would ship the cards to you or you can come and pick them up when they receive them but this store was very far from where I live to come back and I wouldn't want to risk the card getting damaged in the mail. The event was also $15, which has been the most expensive of this type of event I've seen. Most are $5 as the stores receive the promo cards for free or $10 if the event does booster pack prizing. I ended up not playing in the event as it was too expensive to not even leave with the card I was paying for and no guarantee that I would ever see it. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. The store itself looks nice and there are lots of play space for games but that is it for the positive aspects of this place. As other reviews state it does in fact smell bad in this store. Parking is limited too. I had seen another review state that this place was located in an "iffy" area and I'd 100% agree with that. It's in an odd residential yet commercial area that I didn't really feel comfortable in. There were people walking into the woods next door which to me was strange. The side and back of the building is fenced in and they have a guard dog that seems aggressive and a "Beware of Dog" sign posted on the fence. I've been to a large amount of card shops and have never seen anything remotely like this place. I am glad that I was not alone when I went to this store. I could never recommend this store to anyone. Show less
