This is the game store of our dreams! While visiting family in Texas, we looked up local game stores and went to check this out. Now all other game stores are ruined for us. 🤣 The medieval decor is outstanding and creates an amazing atmosphere, but they have other rooms with different themes too, specifically a military room and a spaceship style meeting room. Even the bathrooms are themed! The collection of games and accessories for sale is fantastic too. But I also LOVE how many tables they have and shelves of games to try and play before you buy. We didn't try the food, but they have a little kitchen as well as a few themed private rooms you can rent for game play too. Truly a fantastic little shop! Now if only we could get them to move to the east coast where we live... 😁 Show less

This is the game store of our dreams! While visiting family in Texas, we looked up local game stores and went to check this out. Now all other game stores are ruined for us. 🤣 The medieval decor is outstanding and creates an amazing atmosphere, but they have other rooms with different themes too, specifically a military room and a spaceship style meeting room. i have been going here to play magic for over a year at least once a week and can genuinely say this is the best shop in san antonio. The owners i have only interacted with a handful of times but they have always been so kind and go out of their way to be welcoming. the staff is A++ and all of them ... Read more

i have been going here to play magic for over a year at least once a week and can genuinely say this is the best shop in san antonio. The owners i have only interacted with a handful of times but they have always been so kind and go out of their way to be welcoming. the staff is A++ and all of them truly deserve their praises: most of them are pretty knowledgeable about the products they offer/the game in general, and they are all just so friendly. the food is good and not too bad on pricing. this shop has always sold super close to MSRP on release day/in general for mtg which has allowed me to continue with the hobby that seems to get pricier and pricier and for that i am so grateful because otherwise i would never get my hands on new product. they also have their rewards program which makes it all even more worth it to shop exclusively here. all of this to say if you’re looking for a shop in san antonio, i wouldn’t play anywhere else but here if at all possible. the team here deserves all the community support they can get. The first several times I went here years ago, I absolutely adored this place. I loved everything about it. And then, I made a terrible mistake. I brought my child. If you are a parent, stay away from this place. The level of irrational response this woman has toward children is insane. I've never felt more unwelcome as a father as when I brought my child here. She is completely, TOTALLY irrational and unhinged. I wish I had known before. Years later, in a different town, inspired by how awful I found the experience at KWG, I started my own game store. And y'know, it's funny. After having lots of kids in my store, you know what I noticed? The only people who ever drop and break things are adults. Children basically almost never cause a problem. So owner to owner, let me say that your behavior is DISGUSTING and NASTY. Show less

The best game store there is. The owners are amazing and even making their own games, its the perfect place for all types of games, they have several free to play games and they have all kinds of hobby stuff if you are a painter or a warhammer fan, SW legion, Dnd, MTG, anything. There is no better single game store in town or abroadthat ive seen thats nearly as good, they even have Ren Fair clothes and equipment in the Sanctuary, they serve food made in house and are honestly the best staff you can meet, people who care about their jobs and have fun while they work. Its the best game store I've ever been to the care and dedication is admirable and its clear the whole place is full of heart. This is The place to go if you are new to physical gaming or an avid hobbyist, its my favorite store and i hope they become the biggest store in the country, or at least in the city. The best game store there is. The owners are amazing and even making their own games, its the perfect place for all types of games, they have several free to play games and they have all kinds of hobby stuff if you are a painter or a warhammer fan, SW legion, Dnd, MTG, anything. I like this place quite a bit, great place to gather and play MTG, D&D board games or whatever. I like their D&D named foods, every dish I have ordered has been great. The only reasons I am holding back the fifth star is the seating is rough on my back, considering the games we play usually last a few hours especially since we usually play multiple sessions. And I wish they had more of a magic selection, they have a lot of other cool stuff though. If I could give 4.75 stars I would this place is great. I like this place quite a bit, great place to gather and play MTG, D&D board games or whatever. I like their D&D named foods, every dish I have ordered has been great. The only reasons I am holding back the fifth star is the seating is rough on my back, considering the games we play usually last a few hours especially since we usually play multiple sessions. I was visiting from out of town and looking for the best board game store in San Antonio...and I think I found it! Not only was there a fantastic vibe and amazing selection, the staff and the owner were super friendly and helpful. I found a HUGE game at a great price, but there was no way I was getting it back on the plane. The owner was super flexible and found a solution to ship the bulk of it to me at a very fair price. This is exactly the kind of store I wish existed near our home. Any trip back to this area will necessitate a return visit. Can't rate it highly enough! Show less

I was visiting from out of town and looking for the best board game store in San Antonio...and I think I found it! Not only was there a fantastic vibe and amazing selection, the staff and the owner were super friendly and helpful. I found a HUGE game at a great price, but there was no way I was getting it back on the plane. The owner was super flexible and found a solution to ship the bulk of it to me at a very fair price. They were out of Ixalan, the owner overheard me asking about it and she kindly explained they only get what wizards sends them and that they are numbered. I stopped in today to buy my usual 5 packs of Ixalan and get some delicious fried eggs. They were out of Ixalan, the owner overheard me asking about it and she kindly explained they only get what wizards sends them and that they are numbered. Im new to magic, so I appreciated the explanation. Then they found out they were out of fresh eggs, so they offered me boiled eggs. Im easy going so I was good with that too....I didnt want to hastle them with a refund over some eggs LOL! I think her name is Brenda, she then instructed the front check out staff member (Kara?) to give me a free magic pack! Totally didnt not expect that, and was very appreciative of the gesture. In the end I had some very good boiled eggs, with their signature spicey mayo (10/10) and I even pulled 2 legendary cards from the pack Kara picked. I have been coming here for a few months, and I really enjoy interacting with the staff and getting cards on my lunch break. Would recommend to stop in! They have a large menu (Not just eggs) Show less

They were out of Ixalan, the owner overheard me asking about it and she kindly explained they only get what wizards sends them and that they are numbered. Im new to magic, so I appreciated the explanation. Then they found out they were out of fresh eggs, so they offered me boiled eggs. Im easy going so I was good with that too....I didnt want to hastle them with a refund over some eggs LOL! I never post reviews, but I really wanna give kudos to the best tabletop shop I've ever been to. You can tell the entire store was designed with passion, and continues to be passionately owned. It's rare to find shops with so much personality like this one, it's like a Ren Faire was confined within a tabletop shop. Best thing is that I don't believe they charge scalper prices for their products or anything, I believe every time I've been there has been msrp for stuff like Magic cards, which is unfortunately becoming a rarity these days. Shop owners are also so chill and run the register sometimes and are friendly enough to chat, and sometimes you can meet their dogs. I can't give enough praise to this place, I genuinely love it so much. Great vibes and great place to meet people by playing some card games or board games by bringing your own stuff or using their copies they have you can pick up and play at any time. Show less

It did for some reason include the wooden components from the main base game along with some other pieces from some game I can’t identify. All of this I fully understand but please be aware. Amazing shop and my wife and I love the atmosphere and the rooms for rent to play with friends. My wife and I have come here several times over the years to play for hours and their food is great! It did for some reason include the wooden components from the main base game along with some other pieces from some game I can’t identify. All of this I fully understand but please be aware. Amazing shop and my wife and I love the atmosphere and the rooms for rent to play with friends. My wife and I have come here several times over the years to play for hours and their food is great! I decided to visit here at random since it was January 1st, many places were closed. This place was open thankfully. I was very surprised by how cozy this place is. I didn't know they had different themed rooms you can reserve to have a game night with friends. Plus they have a pretty varied selection of games you can just go in and play. And many more you can also buy. I'll definitely be visiting here again. I highly recommend it if you want a chill hang out spot. Show less
