This place is the definition of joy. Truly the most creative engaging safe space for my kids. We are so incredibly lucky to have LPOE in our community. If you have ever wondered about it, go!

The best place. Everyone is welcome here, it’s kid-friendly but also a great spot for a date or to hang out with a friend. They also have an events for many interests so you can find a community too. I’m happy this store exists.

My wife and I had our date night here not too long ago and that staff were very friendly and curated a great collection on boardgames for us. It was a great way for us to connect, laugh and enjoy each other's time. 100 percent will be coming back!

This is my new favorite place. The vibe, the variety of games the employees (specifically the kind woman who accommodated my group on a busy Saturday night and suggested a ton of fun games). It's just a cozy, non-judgmental that I could easily spend hours at.

A wonderful place to bring friends and family, whether for D&D or a chill night of board games. The staff are helpful and friendly, the Dungeon Masters are skilled at their craft, and all are eager to help out and promote a strong sense of community.

Don’t come to this place. They love their rules more than doing business. We were a party of 4. Our time was up. I brought two more friends who arrived a bit later though and they paid for a 2-hour slot. The time was 10pm, our time (the party of 4) finished, we stopped playing, the place was empty and we (the 4) wanted to stay a bit more to only hang out with our 2 other friends, who arrived a bit later and were finishing their game. We (the party of 4) gave up our board games and it was pretty obvious that we had no intention to keep playing but were just there to wait our fiends to finish their game. The owner asked us to pay to stay for the remaining hour (since the place closes at 11pm), even though the place was completely empty and we had no intention to play! As a result our 2 friends who had more time to play had to abandon their game in the middle to leave with us. Even though I completely understand that these are the rules, what I could not understand was that at 10pm in an empty place and with no intention to keep playing there was no point to pay for another 2 hours to just wait for our 2 friends to finish their game. Sometimes to be a good business person you need to understand when you need to enforce the rules and when not. Really bad experience overall and not a way to keep a business healthy. UPDATE: As you read the owner’s response below is quite unsettling and troublesome. She came up with fake allegations and also accused me of demanding a free pass (!!!), while the only thing we asked her was to stay a bit longer without playing to wait for our 2 friends to end their game. It was 10pm, the place was about to close soon, it was cold outside and all that we asked her was to wait inside for our friends to end their game. Instead because she wanted to squeeze every penny out of us, she demanded that we all pay for staying inside her shop. And she wouldn’t care that our 2 friends would have to cut their game short because of this unreasonable ask. And again, her request would be totally reasonable if we had asked to play extra without paying for this extra time. So in her response, she preferred to come up with a fake allegation than addressing my comment… After her very passive aggressive response, I was curious to see about other low-rating posts and the owner’s responses. I have to say I was very surprised to find out that she has never admitted any wrongdoing in any of these other low-rating posts and that she was always trying to find an edge to blame the customer instead. That was one of my worst experiences being in an establishment. Not because of the place but about how unprofessionally and rudely we were treated by the person in charge there. Show less

Just visited Last Place for the first time last week as a D&D beginner for one of their ladies nights! I attended with a friend. The space is welcoming, and we both had a lot of fun trying D&D for the first time and I would love to come back in the future. However, there was a bit of a disappointing communication mixup during the booking process. I reached out online about my friend & I joining a beginner game. Whitney recommended that we try ladies night instead, since there was a new beginner friendly table starting soon. I asked if there would still be spots for both of us to join starting from session 1 due to a conflict with session 0 and was told absolutely! However, ~10 minutes after arriving at the table, we were told that they actually didn’t have room for us (but did have room for another new player) & we were moved over to another table that was mid-campaign. The DM of that table was fantastic at making us feel included, but it wasn’t exactly the first-time D&D experience I’d been hoping for. If it had been communicated earlier that there were no spots left at the table we thought we were joining, I would’ve happily waited for the opportunity to join a new table from session 0. This might be because of user error on my part— maybe I sent my payment over too late & someone else had already booked the last spot. It seems like most coordination is done through their Discord server, so maybe email inquiries slip through the cracks sometimes. I wouldn’t fault them for taking a first come first served approach to this at all— it just would’ve been nice to have communicated that the table I thought I was joining was full before I showed up to play or, instead of somewhat unapologetically being moved to a different table, had been extended the option to come back for a future session 0. I can’t recommend The Last Place on Earth enough. I joined looking for a D&D campaign, and Whitney—who runs the space—made the entire process incredibly easy. She is one of the nicest, most welcoming people you’ll meet, and she’s created an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone truly feels comfortable showing up as themselves. The community she’s built is fantastic: creative players, kind people, and a real sense of shared adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned TTRPG player or totally new to the hobby, this is a place where you’ll feel right at home. Show less

Don’t waste your time coming here. The owner seems far more interested in squeezing out every possible penny than treating customers with basic respect. We were a group of four whose game time ended a little before 10pm. Two more friends arrived later and paid for their own 2-hour slot, so we simply wanted to wait for them to finish their game. The place had only another group other than us, we had already returned our board games, and it was obvious we weren’t planning to play anymore or we were blocking other groups's play time. Instead of letting us sit quietly and wait, the owner kept telling us that we either had to leave or pay an additional $15 each. She was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to listen when we tried explaining that we were just waiting for our friends. As a result, our two friends were forced to stop their game halfway through and leave with us. I understand businesses have policies, but good businesses also require common sense—and some basic courtesy. When it comes to the place, it really has a very good selection of board games, but it is unfortunately managed by the wrong people. Not a place I’d recommend if you expect to be treated with any kind of respect. Leaving two and not one star just for the wide selection of the games. Show less

I discovered this place about a year ago and absolutely love it. Their staff had amazing recommendations for new games to try. What really sold it though was being able to come in and play games for super cheap! The staff will help you learn if you don’t know already and the atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting. It even gave me the courage to try DnD finally. I’m now hooked and look forward to coming in weekly to play. And my wife and kid love coming to play new games too. No notes. About as perfect as a game shop can get. Show less

What a gem! Last Place On Earth is the best! The answer is yes, you want to come here, yes you want to spend time here, and yes you want to have so much fun gaming here! I visited Last Place on Earth for the first time for my birthday to play a D&D one shot. Whitney, the owner greeted us with kindness and openness. The store is absolutely stunning with welcoming decorations, smartly set up gaming tables (covered in the perfect mats for gaming!), and floor to ceiling games! The vibe here is the childhood you saw in movies of people laughing and happy memories being made. Our game master John was phenomenal--poor guy didn't let allergies stop him, he brought the game to life with amazing voices and fast-thinking creativity! It was truly a gift to spend time in a place that blends art with storytelling, creativity with space to feel welcome, and a pragmatic lay-out with fun. I am truly in awe of this game shop bringing joy and goodness to the world. While we were enjoying our one shot game one customer tried to shake down Whitney to spend more time in the shop without paying *and* add in more people who had just arrived. As a community we should consider the importance of taking good care of spaces like Last Place on Earth--it's a small business that has to pay rent, replace games, stock snacks, pay taxes, etc. It's easy to take what Whitney has built for granted, it feels magical. But Whitney and her crew puts heart and a lot of work into making Last Place on Earth a bastion for anyone and everyone who loves games. Be kind, support a great business, and be cool honeybunny.
