Legions is a pretty cool place that has a wide array of board/card game offerings. My husband and I were out looking for something specific (Dominion expansions) and they luckily had almost all of them in stock. I think this is a unique gem for gamers as they have many titles that most people would ... Read more

Legions is a pretty cool place that has a wide array of board/card game offerings. My husband and I were out looking for something specific (Dominion expansions) and they luckily had almost all of them in stock. I think this is a unique gem for gamers as they have many titles that most people would have to locate and buy off the internet. I docked one star mostly due to the store layout (there is a large ramp which is the walkway down to the store, which I found odd but I can see it being great for those that need assistance getting to the location). I also docked a star as I felt during our visit there wasn't anyone super knowledgeable there that was also willing to help. Overall I'll definitely return because there are other games they carry that I'm definitely interested in. Show less

Legions is a pretty cool place that has a wide array of board/card game offerings. My husband and I were out looking for something specific (Dominion expansions) and they luckily had almost all of them in stock. I think this is a unique gem for gamers as they have many titles that most people would have to locate and buy off the internet. I have been to a few Hobby stores and this is by far the best. They have more product a on the shelves and more table space than all the other hobby stores I've ever been to combined. Great space with a huge selection of games and supplies to create miniature game pieces. They seem very organized with their game tournament schedules and their staff is very friendly. The only bummer is that they do not have any classic car model kits, rc cars, or slot cars. The addition of those items would make the store a bit more well rounded and provide a local place to shop for such things that doesn't really exist much in Pittsburgh. I have gone here twice for Magic the Gathering events, they were the two most poorly managed Magic events I have been to. They also charge an extra $5 for a magic prerelease than anywhere else in the area, not only do they give more time for deck construction and rounds than the correct amount of time, it goes way over each round, and not necessarily because players are being slow, but because there is little to no communication about the time in the round ending All of the players were perfectly nice, and the employees were nice as well, but I have no intention of ever going back to play in an event. If you are just going to purchase something, it seems like they have a great selection of miniatures, however I would completely steer clear of this shop for a magic event. Show less

I absolutely love this place. I spent many summer nights here while I was in high school, and spending time here again after college brings back all those good memories. The selection of both Collectible Card Games, and Table Top Games is wide, and there is always ample space for everyone to enjoy ... Read more

I absolutely love this place. I spent many summer nights here while I was in high school, and spending time here again after college brings back all those good memories. The selection of both Collectible Card Games, and Table Top Games is wide, and there is always ample space for everyone to enjoy themselves. The staff is friendly, and almost every transaction is ended with a genuine "Have Fun." The Tabletops are free to use, and there isn't ever really any obligation or pressure to purchase anything while you're here (Support the store and buy a drink. Goes a long way). I've not been able to make it on a Friday night in a long time, but those are the busiest days. There is a collection of bits next to the register that are normally just complete sets of a model or squad that are discounted. There are magic cards just about everywhere, with binders and glass cases displaying them. Their "Legions" cards offer a discount on purchases, as well as a points system that adds up faster than you'd think. The only reason I am hesitant to give this place 5 stars, is because something needs to be done about the bathrooms. It's unfortunate that they are in such a state of disrepair, and I think would drive a few people away, but they've not been updated once in quite a few years, and I feel uncomfortable with the state of them (I'm pretty sure there's no lock on the stall in the men's room).
