Level 1 Arcade Bar gets five stars all day. You want video games? They got em. Want darts? Yup, got that too. Craving food and drinks that do not taste like microwave sadness? They are covered there as well. It is the kind of place that checks every box for a solid night out without trying to be overly trendy or pretentious. The vibe is super chill. It does get busy at night, but in a good way, like everyone just showed up for the same reason, to eat, drink, and pretend their reflexes are still sharp enough for Street Fighter. They run dart tournaments, which is fun whether you are throwing or just spectating with a drink in hand and silently judging everyone's aim. Staff is awesome. Friendly, fast, and they actually seem to enjoy being there, which is rare in any place that serves both food and cocktails while blasting arcade sounds. I used to be a regular here before I moved, and any time I wanted to get out of the house, grab some food, and throw some darts, this was the spot. It is fun, low pressure, and packed with just enough nostalgia to make you feel like a kid with better beverage options. Highly recommend. Show less

Level 1 Arcade Bar gets five stars all day. You want video games? They got em. Want darts? Yup, got that too. Craving food and drinks that do not taste like microwave sadness? They are covered there as well. It is the kind of place that checks every box for a solid night out without trying to be overly trendy or pretentious. The vibe is super chill. The food is so yummy, and the drinks are super unique and delicious. TONS of pinball, old school arcade games, and some more modern options like Dance Dance Revolution and Mario Kart. Kids are even allowed in daily, before 7PM (with constant supervision). The owners are always floating around, and they are the COOLIEST, most SWEETEST power couples. This is strictly a review of the pinball games found at Level 1 Arcade Bar in Mesa, AZ. I didn't order any drinks or food while visiting, so therefore I can't speak to the quality/service of said amenities. However as a location to play pinball, Level 1 is terrific! I've never been to their Gilbert location but at this one in Mesa, the pinball tables all worked flawlessly. At other places, sometimes the games are not well-maintained. Not so here! Excellent lineup of games in great condition, many pins from the '90s and also a selection of more modern pins. Typically $1.00/game to play. Phantom of the Opera (Data East, 1990) and Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure (Williams, 1993) were favorites! The pinball games are all upstairs. There is also a smattering of arcade cabinets to play both upstairs and downstairs, including classic all-time arcade greats 720 (Atari Games, 1986) and Smash TV (Williams, 1990). Staff was friendly! Games take tokens dispensed via machines on site. Two-hour street parking is available nearby, or try the Green Parking Lot practically next door. Worth the drive from Tucson to play! Show less

I didn't order any drinks or food while visiting, so therefore I can't speak to the quality/service of said amenities. However as a location to play pinball, Level 1 is terrific! During our frequent visits we've tried many of their beers on tap, specialty cocktails, and the house made Bloody Mary...yummy! We have had a few of the food options and are partial to loaded tots. There were maybe 5 other people in this place on a Monday night, not busy at all, so I'm not sure why doing dishes was so cumbersome. My husband and I both ordered something on tap, he ordered a beer and I ordered a cider, and they were both served in clean glasses. On our second round, the bartender used the glass rinser on our glasses from our first round and then refilled them from the tap. Absolutely, disgusted. So, the mouth of everyone's dirty glass is all going on the same location with not a drop of sanitizer or disinfectant? Y'all know that's NOT what a glass rinser is for, right? How about you don't be lazy and wash a rack of glassware and not make people sick? Show less

One of the great things about Level 1 is that kids are allowed on as long as they are supervised by an adult and it’s before 7pm. It is a bar so the night scene is very different. There are a few arcades close to me, but there are so many more game options here and with the second level there is much to choose from. Service was great, they have an atm so you don’t have to go elsewhere if you don’t have cash, most games are between a quarter or a dollar. Of coming to drink there is a full bar on both levels. We had a great time. My favorite by far is the Metallica pinball or of course your old school Nintendo options like Burger Time, Excite Bike and more. Show less
