Great place to shop, good selection, and most importantly great staff and customer service. I ordered 2 cans of spray paint and they mistakenly sent a wrong color, which I didn't notice till I started using one. I’ve been to Stronghold a few times now and each time has been a negative and horrible customer experience but this was the last straw. I came in on August 13, 2025. The staff member (male, 30s, slim) was impatient and outright rude. When I asked to see card packs on display he haphazardly tossed it in my direction. After a few mere seconds of looking at the packs he impatiently asks “are you done yet?” and without another word packs it away when I said I was done. Don’t come here. There are plenty of other local game shops that are a hell lot more friendly and welcoming than the folks that “work” here. Show less

I’ve been to Stronghold a few times now and each time has been a negative and horrible customer experience but this was the last straw. I came in on August 13, 2025. The staff member (male, 30s, slim) was impatient and outright rude. When I asked to see card packs on display he haphazardly tossed it in my direction. Great staff & fantastic store. They gave me a fair evaluation on my old MTG collection and took it off my hands without issue. During the process they were informative and upfront about my options. When I was there the store was full of people enjoying their games and hobbies across multiple tables which was great to see. The staff still promptly helped me out without question. I live in Toronto but I find this store is amazing. Ordered these 2 return boxes of Arkham Horror online, was a bit of worried at the beginning, thinking of what damage could brought to the boxes during the long distance of shipping. Lots of stock for tabletop RPGs. Loose miniature prices are based on size but some clarity needed on what miniatures are small, medium and large. You can order Magic card singles but just because it's on their website doesn't mean they have it available in the store. You typically have to wait a day... Read more

You can order Magic card singles but just because it's on their website doesn't mean they have it available in the store. You typically have to wait a day to collect your full order. I’d suggest double checking the prices here on your own first before making large purchase. Bought a bunch of stuff here without questioning prices until I saw the same item (world champion deck 2023) for half the price elsewhere. There was a foreign Bulbasaur card that caught my eye. Later I came back for it else but it was heavily damaged but priced pretty high. I usually don’t question prices, but since I saw something I previous bought much cheaper elsewhere I asked if they can re-evaluate the listing price. I don’t mind paying a high price but I’d ask that the store be able to justify why it’s priced that. The sale associate had some issues ascertaining the MP. The whole experience was negative how ever he recognized this and rectified the situation quickly. Show less

I’ve been to a lot of collectibles shops and hobby stores. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming, so I figured I would check this one out since it’s so close to home. I was met with the complete opposite vibe of what these stores normally are. We were immediately prejudiced against as soon as we stepped in by one shorter Asian guy with glasses. He hovered over us like we were going to steal and when we asked to see other pokemon binders he very reluctantly gave a response that indicated that he didn’t want to deal with us. I asked to open a one touch card holder that was very clearly *resealable* to compare with another model due to the packaging being restrictive to see through. We were met with the snarkiest response, and the Asian guy proceeded to put the item that I intended to buy away, behind the counter and told me to Google it. Why would I Google it if I’m there in person to check out an item that is very clearly in resealable packaging? The item is $3, it’s not like I’m asking to open a $70 figure. The most disappointing part about this experience was the lack of customer service. It’s safe to say that I won’t be a customer here ever. Show less

The atmosphere was really great and I really enjoyed it. Seems to be a great place for magic the gathering. I usually go there for pokemon cards. However, there was this one asian employee with glasses who kept following me around not letting me touch any of the pokemon merchandise like I was going to steal it. That was not a big deal, pokemon products are pretty expensive and i was fine just to look. However this employee was insanely rude. He threatened to ban someone in front of me with his father because he had 2 emails attached to their account. It was really distasteful and really uncalled for, the kid seemed really innocent and had no idea he even did it. The other issue was that when I asked to see some of the binders, he only let me see it once. He was really rude when asking me which card I wanted like he was talking down to me. I ended up buying a card and asked if I can get a top loader. He initially denied me because he stated it was too expensive to give and eventually did. Really rude experience, definitely couldve been dealt in other/nicer ways. If he didnt want to give me a top loader that is ok, but didnt have to talk down on me. Show less
