So I just went to the MTG booster draft Sunday event at 3 PM. I have not played Magic since 2008 and since I didn't have any cards I thought this would be a nice way to get back into the game. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had with MTG. Everyone playing was super helpful and patient with my slow drafting and turns. I'll definitely being go back to play here. On another note I have also bought graphic novels here. Pretty solid selection. Show less

So I just went to the MTG booster draft Sunday event at 3 PM. I have not played Magic since 2008 and since I didn't have any cards I thought this would be a nice way to get back into the game. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had with MTG. Everyone playing was super helpful and patient with my slow drafting and turns. I'll definitely being go back to play here. The staff was very kind in helping me find what I needed (which was a Magic The Gathering Deck). They even weren't frustrated when I came back two other times that same time I was in Santa Barbara when asking for something for a relative, overall I was very pleased in the store layout and appreciation the staff had given me on my very first time to a comic book store and hope to return. They seemed very friendly to each other and seem to love their job and do the best they can to organize the store and help everyone who walks through the decorated entrance. PS: I am only in my teenage years so thank you if you thought my review was sophisticated enough to make it seem I was an adult, Thank you very much! Show less

The staff was very kind in helping me find what I needed (which was a Magic The Gathering Deck). They even weren't frustrated when I came back two other times that same time I was in Santa Barbara when asking for something for a relative, overall I was very pleased in the store layout and appreciation the staff had given me on my very first time to a comic book store and hope to return. I love this store so much it's always a pleasure to go, the store has a wide variety of selections, and it's all very cheap. I went over there the other day to buy some MTG booster packs, and I expected to only buy 3 but to my surprise they were much cheaper than I thought so I could buy 4. I love the events they hold, and I love how all the employees are so nice, and how they keep up with when new packs and things like that come out on there insta. The only complaint I could give is the store is too crowded when it comes to the amount of merchandise in there. Show less

I love this store so much it's always a pleasure to go, the store has a wide variety of selections, and it's all very cheap. I went over there the other day to buy some MTG booster packs, and I expected to only buy 3 but to my surprise they were much cheaper than I thought so I could buy 4. Went in the store for the first time in MANY years as I use to as a teen when it was on the other side of the street. My youngest son has taken a liking to Pokémon cards and went to get him a couple packs. The girl at the counter was so thoughtful in helping find him current packs. Tuesdays they were running a special of buy 4 packs get 1 free. We did so & she also threw in some promo items that totally made our little one happy. I’ll support them as I can with the hobby and really thought the customer service was great. Show less

I understand the stores need to make a profit, but Metro has taken it too far. Worse yet, the last time I visited I heard them telling a customer that the alternate cover D&D books were “rare. Good luck finding them online!” Surprising nobody, they’re online and are $10 less. Show less

I was building a new Edh deck and thought to myself "I'm gnna get ahold of Metro" even though im a couple hours away and have a local LGS here. I wanna support another aswell. So I email in the deck list and set no l... Read more

This was my first LGS in 96'. I moved away and have recently moved back to the 805. I was building a new Edh deck and thought to myself "I'm gnna get ahold of Metro" even though im a couple hours away and have a local LGS here. I wanna support another aswell. So I email in the deck list and set no limit to the cards. Gimmie all 100" if you got it. I was happy to be supporting a LGS. Over a week goes by and no response back. So I call, a lady says we must have missed it, "the boss is outta town". Ok, so I resend email. I give it another week and still no Response. At this point I'm thinking WTH. So I call back. Now Eli is on the Task and says he'll get it done asap. Now its end of October. Been a month. Eli, thank u for your help. Calls back and says he only has 30 of the cards. Which sucks, I wanted to hopefully get the whole list from them to further support. I call in a few days later to give some info to Eli and here comes the heartbreaking phone call. Bob answers, I ask for Eli. He refuses to give him the phone, he says "Just send a email, he's invested a HOUR into this list and its only worth 19.46, we're loosing money on this deal" I was soooo shocked I was lost for words. Like it was my fault they only had the 1/3 of the list. He had t answered one of my emails in attempt to pick lost, BOB had 't returned one of my calls. BOB only part in this transaction was to belittle my purchase and refuse to let me talk to the only associate who had helped me in this matter in over a MONTH! Disgusting! Now U see why LGS shops are closing. That kind of response is coming from a place of GREED and lack of passion for their client. Maybe u've been in this sport to long and its no longer a passion of yours. Eli thank you for trying and Im sorry that the 1 whole hour in over a month was a burden to Bob. I've optimized a cart, got all 100 cards and purchased already with TCG, and wasnt told I was a burden to them and even got a Email back right away. Show less

I asked to see if they had any books or boxes with vintage bulk pokemon cards and we were told only one person could look through a box at ... Read more

Im not sure what the rules are with buying pokemon cards at this store but I just left feeling very disturbed.. and l was wondering if the employee was racist. I asked to see if they had any books or boxes with vintage bulk pokemon cards and we were told only one person could look through a box at a time, which already felt a little controlling and untrusting. So instead of me and my partner each looking through different boxes and binders we’re forced to only look through one box. As we were looking through the box another customer walked in and asked for a bulk box of vintage cards to go through. He was looking for vintage too, and were rushed to end our search, so he could start his search. She then proceeded to hover over us. These were bulk boxes with .50 cent cards by the way. We felt rushed and felt like this other guy was given priority (maybe because of the color of his skin). She also failed to tell us about this new box when we asked about pokemon vintage cards. The whole time spent in the store was less than 30 minutes yet we felt like we were bothering the employee just by simply looking. There are plenty of other stores who are fun and welcoming, so I won’t be bothering w this location and I hope others don’t feel as disturbed as I did.. Show less
