Awesome store. Friendly staff that like to chat, game room always seems to be hopping; selection is decent, and seems to be steadily improving. If I had one complaint, it'd be the parking scenario - on busy nights I've had to park over by the martial arts dojo! A good problem to have for a business,... Read more

Nice store with an active game room full of playable games. My wife and I visited for the first time over the weekend to look around. I docked a couple of stars because we were never greeted or approached in the 30 minutes we looked. There appeared to be plenty of staff and a small stream of customers. We were just browsing, but I was hoping to get some recommendations for a coop game and willing to spend some money. I've been to MBG in Mission and Tabletop in OP and always been greeted by an enthusiastic gamer that is happy to advise. I tend to shy away from begging people to take my money. Maybe we didn't look like typical customers. We might give it another try. Show less

This is the largest KC Board Game store… easily. I also like the owner will back some Kickstarters I may have missed. You can tell the employees really enjoy TCG and Board Games as they have excellent recommendations and are just as enthusiastic as the buyers

I brought my 4 year old son (who is EXTREMELY hyper active) with me, he was in heaven with all of the games, dice, cards, and the spacious room they have in the store. Hunter took the time to talk with my son, and entertain all of his questions, comments, and concerns regarding the store. He was Extremely gentle with him when he ran behind the counter and he was so patient during the entire interaction. Hunter, if you are reading this, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a kind soul in a world full of monsters. Alright, enough about Hunter. This store is amazing! They have an incredible reward system, great prices on table top and card games. The owner is very open minded and personable. The staff is knowledgeable and honestly, just fun to be around. I've been to a LOT of card shops, and out of the few north of the river, Mission bored games has won my business and my sons for many years to come! Show less

A great game store with a good selection of popular games and a decent room with tables for playing games on. Starting with the store part, they have a good selection of tabletop, collectible card, and miniature games but tends to be the more popular, currently trending, games. So if you're looking for a game thats currently popular you'll likely have no problem finding what you're looking for here. If its an older, less popular, or less well known game you might need to look elsewhere. Another positive is that they do have a section that has a lot of games for a younger, age 10 and under, audience that I rarely see in game stores. If you're looking for a game to play with some younger folk or a gift for them this also might be a great store to check out. Table space for playing games is decent but also limited. Definitely not the biggest space and table count I've ever seen. Depending on the night you go there you may have a harder time finding a table. Food options while you play are the standard sodas and water with some snack options in store. If your willing to leave the store there are several great places within walking distance and about anything you could want within a short drive. As for the store staff, they are a friendly bunch and love to talk about games and game related things. This can occasionally cause them to fall into a deep discussion with someone to the point that they appear distracted or inattentive but if you approach them they will break conversation to help you. In short, don't be scared to say you need help and they will be more than happy to help you out. At the end of the day, if your gaming tastes include playing the most popular or younger player games of today, or you need a place to sit down and play with a wide selection of restaurants within five minutes away Mission Games should be a great place for you to visit. Where do I start? Let’s start with the girl that was working the front counter. The most disrespectful and condescending person i’ve ever encountered in the TCG space. I enquired about the price of a raw single they had in their display case and she proceeds to scoff at my request. She then tells me a price that is 50 dollars over market according to TCGPlayer. When i show her on my phone that she’s 50 dollars over what TCG player has, she proceeds to condescendingly tell me that the price is the price and she doesn’t negotiate. So the only employee in the store is unable to strike any kind of agreement with you. When i asked about the prices of the some of the sealed product they have on the shelf, instead of telling me a price she tells me “there’s a sticker right on it”. mind you, the sticker is tiny and i can barely see from where i’m standing. All of their sealed product was stickered 15-20 dollars above market price according to TCGplayer (which is what they use to price their stuff according to the girl that was working that day). Their shop had MAYBE 15 raw singles in the case on display for sale. This place is a pathetic excuse for a card shop and the miserable excuse for a human working that day should seriously reconsider her career choice and find something that makes her happy because working in the TCG space is clearly not for her. Avoid this place at all costs. Show less

Been a long-time gamer at MBG. The new staff is knowledgeable and helpful in every sense. When you "enquire" politely about a single in the display case, you have to understand that brick and mortar has to make some profit. So prices will naturally be higher. What you don't do is take the card out of its protective sleeves and get cheeto dust and poor-person grease smeared about. A lot of times in small shops, the owner is the only one able to negotiate, because it directly impacts revenue and profits. I found price labeling to be clear and concise. But if needed, I can find a pair of $4 reading glasses at the nearest Barnes and Noble when I'm done berating the only working employee. Because I'm important. The TCG space can be cutthroat and immature, but I always find MBG to be a calm place to chat about gaming, crack open a Sprite, and lock in on a puzzle. Because scalping trading cards is smooth-brain activity. 🐐 Show less

I was told they have events weekly and welcome new players. While I was there, a customer asked about a beginners MTG set. Immediately, another customer took them under their wing and walked him through deciding what to get while answer questions and explaining everything so the customer could understand. That tells me their customer base is top notch. Will I come back? The answer is an easy, gosh darn yeah! Show less
