Modern Table Top gaming is the best Local Card shop in the RVA area. I visit them at least once a week to play in their local One Piece tournaments and have a blast doing it. Their entire staff is knowledgeable and they always make me feel welcomed when I stop by. They carry a wide range of sealed product that my friends and I love to open together. Modern Table Top gaming is the best Local Card shop in the RVA area. I visit them at least once a week to play in their local One Piece tournaments and have a blast doing it. Their entire staff is knowledgeable and they always make me feel welcomed when I stop by. They carry a wide range of sealed product that my friends and I love to open together. I have visited a lot of card shops in Virginia and other states. This place greets every customer at the door and checks up on them to see if they need anything. Store smells amazing and is well organized. They keep a great stock of products and have a singles collection and organization that is unmatched. Their events are extremely well ran. They start on time, have big clocks for timers and have all the details posted on all their Social Media platforms. This is a top notch store when it comes to what you are looking for. Show less

It seems like who posts the information on their one piece cards online vs in store do not communicate. They say they won’t have any in stock after preorders, and then they do. They also charge $30 more than paper tiger. The guys are nice but also seems silly to have to participate in a tournament just to collect cards. Paper tiger knows people work and save some for the next business day. I’d rather go there where it’s not over charged and more accommodating. Show less

They also charge $30 more than paper tiger. The guys are nice but also seems silly to have to participate in a tournament just to collect cards. Paper tiger knows people work and save some for the next business day. I’d rather go there where it’s not over charged and more accommodating. Show less

Modern Table Top is home to a lovely community that plays one of my favorite games, Grand Archive. They were warm and inviting when me and my roommate expressed interest in getting better at the game. MTT has a huge selection of singles and DnD minis, and ran a sale whilst hosting a large tournament that I was attending (for Grand Archive). I had a wonderful experience playing and hanging out, I can’t wait to come to my next event. They were warm and inviting when me and my roommate expressed interest in getting better at the game. MTT has a huge selection of singles and DnD minis, and ran a sale whilst hosting a large tournament that I was attending (for Grand Archive). Great card store with some great local scenes for many different games. I know of some people that drive 40+ minutes to make it to this Local Game Store because it is one of the best ones around. Great walk in and play Commander opportunities too for those that want to try to impromptu play some EDH... Read more

Great card store with some great local scenes for many different games. I know of some people that drive 40+ minutes to make it to this Local Game Store because it is one of the best ones around. Great walk in and play Commander opportunities too for those that want to try to impromptu play some EDH. Healthy Discord with many different active channels. Fair prices and great staff. Only qualms are stuff that really isn't within their control being the parking and walkable food options. Parking isn't bad and is usually enough, but when a coveted LGS has an event, it gets full fairly quickly. Although, there is additional parking behind the building in the other strips so it is not as if you can't go in at all or find a spot to park. Overall, fantastic LGS that have a great community behind it. Show less

I've played Mtg since 2011 and have played at most of the local gaming stores in the Metro Richmony Area. While I've had great experiences at most of the stores, MTT stands out.Amazing staff. Great people. Healthy environment. Competitive, but in a challenging way not intimidating. They do a great job catering to both new players of games and people who have played for a long time. Staff goes above and beyond. Recently, I told them about a cube I was building and they helped me find the cards I needed. I once got burned online buying a chase mythic for my Brother's birthday. I went to MTT to buy it and they knocked a few bucks off just cause it was for my Brother's birthday. That demonstrates the people they are. If I'm playing Fnm or doing a Prerelease, MTT is my first choice every time( and I pass at least 3 or 4 others to get there) support local gaming stores. Support good people. Support MTT. Show less
