6 years agoSaw my friend Bill Barry perform, nice place, cool people. Laid back atmosphere. We both live in Hollywood so the experience coming out there was even more special.

6 years agothe neutral ground just can’t be beat! love spending time there, and the people can’t be beat! always good music, and if not it’s at least interesting. can never resist getting a root beer float and playing trivia with pals and this fun and local spot.

This is my place of places to go and chill and hang out. It's open from 7pm to midnight every night. The only time it closes is New Year's or is it - yeah New Year's eve. But this place you can be who you are. No pretense. Tucked in the covey of uptown on Danneel Street which is between St. Charles and Freret Street is the place for musicians to play before a live audience. Caveat - sometimes you have to bring your own crowd. But if you promote your show - they'll pass the tip basket around and you could make a few dollars for the night. Every musician that's worth their salt has booked a show there. Allain Touissaint played there before his untimely death. Now on Sundays there is an open mic. It's the longest running Open Mic in the south. Now there is no alcohol which makes it a great place for recovering alcoholics to enjoy a nightlife. Show less

7 years agoThe only place to hear acoustic music in New Orleans. I know. Isn't that pathetic? It's supposed to be a music capital, but that's really just for jazz, funk, Dixieland, etc. Anyway, it's a coffee house with live music. 7 years agoGreat atmosphere. If you're going by yourself, there are books and live music. If going with friends, there are board games and lots of comfy seats to sit and talk. The staff are also really friendly!

7 years agoClosing up when I got there (11pm) because the musical acts were done for the night but that makes sense. Vibe seemed really laid back and nice, would like to go back during the day while they're open.

7 years agoOutstanding! Our favorite secret find in New Orleans. A small, unpretentious venue where anyone can play and sing. Just put your name on the sign-up sheet to secure a time slot and you're the star of the show. Great coffee bar adds to the funky decor and overall cool vibe.

Has a good vibe, coffee shop has just come up, it has found its footing with the musical talents that perform here and coming up with events that feel like they bring people together

I bought a some teas and tipped for my drinks however I felt like I was being berated about tipping more for the artist or spending more money in general which felt a little uncomfortable toward the end of me being there. I went there to study and sat in the back away from the music and was confused as to why I was being judged for not spending more money. Was my only negative experience there unfortunately. Drinks are okay, prepackaged most of them. It’s more about the atmosphere which is overall great and very chill. Show less

3 years agoVery laid back, very hippie coffee bar. Prices are very reasonable, staff is really friendly and local. Went on open mic night and the music was 1960s and 1970s rock played by old guys who really love music.

This is like going to your hippie dad’s cabin in the woods for some old fashioned coffee pot coffee and a good conversation. Always music, which is great unless you wanna concentrate (to write or think) as it is a music venue. Also, a bit of a younger crowd when I went (high school age), all polite but not quite what I’m looking for in my mid-30’s. Still I’ll def check it out again Show less

2 years agoOpen music mic on Sunday’s. Super chill vibes, sorta reminds me of summer camp. Impromptu everything. People just jump behind the bar to make you drinks, no one knows anything, everyone knows everything. I loved it. Very LGBTQ friendly
