I've only been once but if they ever close it will ruin my life forever. More seriously it is so nice to have a more dedicated war gaming/tabletop store like this in the area with actual tables and space for gaming instead of a single corner or isle in a cramped card shop. I didn't get a chance to chat with the staff because i was in a hurry but the entire place and everyone there seemed pretty relaxed and welcoming. I'll definitely be back. Show less

Great amenities, Streaming Room, Lockers for minis, ample tables for card games. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable! Parking during school can be hard but you can usually find a spot to park within one block. Would 100% recommend. Show less

I’m not one to leave reviews but I was in the store yesterday with my son when I witnessed behavior that completely crossed the line. A store employee aggressively confronted a group of children over a Pokémon trade involving his own child, claiming his kid had been “ripped off.” He spoke to them i... Read more

I’m not one to leave reviews but I was in the store yesterday with my son when I witnessed behavior that completely crossed the line. A store employee aggressively confronted a group of children over a Pokémon trade involving his own child, claiming his kid had been “ripped off.” He spoke to them in an intimidating way and told them to track down the other boy involved and “make it right.” This was deeply inappropriate. These were kids, and an adult, especially one working in a game store, should know better than to use intimidation to resolve a minor trading dispute. If there was an issue, it should have been handled calmly and professionally, or turned into a simple life lesson about fair trades. Instead, the employee chose to scare a group of children. As a parent, I found this disturbing. It showed a serious lack of judgment and professionalism, and it’s not the kind of environment I want my child exposed to. I will not be returning. Show less

I’m not one to leave reviews but I was in the store yesterday with my son when I witnessed behavior that completely crossed the line. A store employee aggressively confronted a group of children over a Pokémon trade involving his own child, claiming his kid had been “ripped off.” He spoke to them in an intimidating way and told them to track down the other boy involved and “make it right.” This was deeply inappropriate. Just found out about this awesome little gem of a shop. It’s definitely stocked with more rpg than regular board games, but if that’s not your thing, the selection is still great with a wide range of different games. The service was excellent. I’ve been in search of a good two player game for my upcoming anniversary. While my partner has no limit to the amount of complexity and strategy that can be involved with a board game, I’m fairly inexperienced.. but willing to try something new. The staff pointed me in the direction of a few of their favorite two player games at various price points and difficulty levels. I ended up splurging on a very cool cooperative board game, and I’m so excited to try it! Old Guard Games has a welcoming environment in a beautifully restored building with down to earth staff. AND, while my partner and I don’t have any experience with rpg, this feels like a great place for us to come try some out and not be overwhelmed, haha. I will definitely be back! Show less

I’ve been in search of a good two player game for my upcoming anniversary. There's one staff member in particular, a lady with platinum blonde short hair, who is particularly attentive and just seems to be able to anticipate our team and attendees needs.
