Just getting into Warhammer and to be honest it is quite intimidating and over whelming. I was talking with Luke the owner about how it can feel that way and he walked me through chapters I was interested in, what type of lore and tactics are interesting and ultimately help me decided on a chapter that fit best with my interested in the 40k universe. Went in for one piece cards and honestly I had a great experience. They held a card for me so I could make the trip to pick up, found plenty of other finds I was looking for. I think the worst I paid was 2 bucks over tcg value on a card but other than that everything was on point (Definitely saved m... Read more

Went in for one piece cards and honestly I had a great experience. They held a card for me so I could make the trip to pick up, found plenty of other finds I was looking for. I think the worst I paid was 2 bucks over tcg value on a card but other than that everything was on point (Definitely saved money as opposed to buying from multiple shops and on shipping, so still a win). Found everything I was looking for and then some. Also they were very cool, took care of me right away, took time to actually walk me through a couple of things, seemed very genuine. So overall very happy with my experience. Will 100% be back. Show less

Went in for one piece cards and honestly I had a great experience. They held a card for me so I could make the trip to pick up, found plenty of other finds I was looking for. I think the worst I paid was 2 bucks over tcg value on a card but other than that everything was on point (Definitely saved money as opposed to buying from multiple shops and on shipping, so still a win). I gave up on singles and decided to just get some lorcana stuff, including a couple playmats out of a stack on the wall. Turns out one of the Matts was 80$, due to apparent rarity, which is weird for an item out of a pile with no price tag. For Pokemon, I cannot more strongly recommend against Old World Games. It's rare to encounter customer service that's so bad that every interaction feels like you're bothering them, but Luke (and team) have it mastered. Their prices for Pokemon (sealed+singles) are absolutely awful as well. There are far far better places to spend your money in the area. Show less

I worked in retail for over 20 years, do my best to shop and support small businesses whenever possible. I have never received such horrible customer service in my life. I recently discovered this game store and it’s definitely one of the best in Arizona. They have a ton of Warhammer models + hobby supplies. The store is clean and smells nice (an often neglected yet very important aspect of game stores). They have lots of tables to play on. I put in a pre-order for a Killteam box but was not in town to pick it up — so I called the store and they let me pay over the phone and said they’d hold it for me till I got back. I recently discovered this game store and it’s definitely one of the best in Arizona. They have a ton of Warhammer models + hobby supplies. The store is clean and smells nice (an often neglected yet very important aspect of game stores). They have lots of tables to play on. I went out of my west side locations to play at old world for the NewType challenge. The shop has a great environment with friendly staff and a good amount of singles to choose from. They have decent prices and the amount of room wasn't bad considering there were 32 entrants and other customers playing war hammer. We all fit fine. I will definitely be going back even with it being a 42 mile drive from Waddell. It was worth it. Thank you for being a good shop. Show less

It's getting harder and harder to tell who has the largest selection of Warhammer product in the valley, but Old World Games is probably a top 5 contender. They said they sell trading cards but you can't easily look at most of them unless you want to use the computer in their store to do so. I read through all of the reviews, looks like people are mostly unhappy with their trading card prices at this establishment for both buying and selling. I talked with Luke for a moment, he said they have something like 64,000 cards on their website listed for sale. I saw a relatively good sized collection of MTG playmats for sale with other TCG card storage/display products. To note: There is a bathroom, canned drinks, a soda fountain, and snacks. No charge to play on the tables. There are game events daily/weekly, primarily Warhammer, some TCG / various others. Lots of tables to play on, padded chairs, and they have a selection of terrain/environment pieces you can borrow/use for your game (no models). Small selection of board games for sale, not all Warhammer related. Overall a good experience - worth checking out if you're even a little bit into Warhammer, or you're looking for a specific model.
