Loved the Halloween board game night, we played Arkham Horror and it was wonderful to have the lovely lady helping us understand how to play it. The staff are so welcoming despite my rather unusual Halloween appearance and the pies were delicious. Loved the hot chocolate and the flump type ghost marshmallows, they should be a regular feature not just Halloween. We will be back! Show less

I took my three neurodivergent kids for an afternoon of playing games. It was a gamble, as I honestly live in dread of taking them anywhere by myself in case one of them has a meltdown. But we chanced it, and I am so glad we did. It was so ND affirming, they gave us some great game suggestions, provided all the yummy snacks, and it was a quiet haven of calm in the school holidays, when so many places are sensory overload. Rachel and Helen were brilliant, and we will definitely be regulars. What an asset to the village. Show less

I took my three neurodivergent kids for an afternoon of playing games. It was a gamble, as I honestly live in dread of taking them anywhere by myself in case one of them has a meltdown. But we chanced it, and I am so glad we did. Visited this afternoon as an enthusiastic snacker and drinker of tea/coffee, but a novice and apathetic board game player. The welcome was really warm and a table of keen gamers made me curious. Played a game I’d not played before which was both beautifully simple yet allowed for some thought and strategy. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Left having picked the game we’ll play next time we visit. There is a huge selection of games, and the hosts are keen to enlighten novices like me in the fun that board games can provide. Will be wanting to try one of the delicious sounding pies next time too, and as the cake today was delicious, I’ll delay any diet. Oh, and parking is cheap and a stone’s throw away. The tables are huge, loads of room for big games plus they all have pull out shelf parts so your food and drinks don't even have to go near the games! Cakes and fancy crisps were yummy, I *love* lord of the pies, so that's a great option, too. Incredible selection of board games from casual to super heavy. We looked up some from their online game library the night before to get a head start on rules, which helped us save time (for more playing!). Staff are friendly, helpful, kind and inclusive. This little Board Game café is proving to be a favourite haunt of mine. The two owners -Rachel and Helen -are so friendly and helpful. In addition to giving me the confidence to explore new games, they create a lovely and welcoming atmosphere. The first time I can I was mortified to be invited to join another table to make up a game for 4. It turned out to be so much fun and I made some new friends in the process. Helen’s home-baked cookies are not to be missed and I personally appreciate that she always ensures there is a vegan option. Rachel is extremely passionate about gaming and is always getting new games in, plus arranging special themed nights. It’s definitely a great addition to Bramhall and the local gaming community.
