We had three friends visiting (one of which is unfortunately wheelchair bound) and we were looking for a place to have some food and watch the football. Parkside Tavern was close to their hotel and seemed like a good option. After entering we were looking for somewhere to sit when one of our party was approached and asked for ID. Although of age she did not have a physical copy of her ID with her (she did have a digital copy of her passport) and as a result we were told to leave. We’d never been here before and obviously this was a very disappointing first experience. Based on this I would not recommend the Parkside Tavern if you’re a family, group of mixed ages, or have anyone in your party with limited mobility. Show less

Amazing staff and Absolutely great venue to host a private party! We booked a 30th birthday party in the upstairs function room, large and spacious with it's own bar which opens up onto a roof terrace which get the sun all day!! From the very start out host Sophie was very professional and so accommodating. Her bar staff Amy and Theo were excellent who we kept very busy on that bar! Between them they did an amazing job! The food was very good! And had lots of vegan and vegetarian options. We had a big speaker given to play our own music plus they kept the TVs on for the football fans. Everyone who came to the party really enjoyed themselves including the birthday girl! Plus a few people have said this would be perfect for their birthday parties too. I for one will be booking this venue again in the near future. Thank you again! Show less

We booked a 30th birthday party in the upstairs function room, large and spacious with it's own bar which opens up onto a roof terrace which get the sun all day!! From the very start out host Sophie was very professional and so accommodating. Her bar staff Amy and Theo were excellent who we kept very busy on that bar! Between them they did an amazing job! Stumbled across this pub on a Sunday morning and enjoyed a few drinks and pool. A lovely pub but the out side is ruined by tacky advertising on the front of a lovely building. Stumbled across this pub on a Sunday morning and enjoyed a few drinks and pool. A lovely pub but the out side is ruined by tacky advertising on the front of a lovely building. Staff weren't sure of the buildings history which is a shame as it has the look of tudor styling on the front. The pool tables are pay by the hour which is great but unfortunately at £12 an hour I think it was time to spend some money on new baize and cues. The lack of attention to detail gives all the signs of chain pub management and while the website it all flash and glossy, the gloss wears off very quickly and needs maintaining. We went to go back on Monday to show it to someone in the group the pub but the pub was closed but had times on the front saying it was open at 15:00 on Monday so we went back at 15:30 to fi d it still closed, never thought of checking Website as this states pub is closed. I have two recent experiences with this pub and both left a bitter taste with me. 1/ Works do; given drinks vouchers but could not get a pint of bitter with the voucher, offered to pay the difference but not happening. So bottled cider, lager or Jack Daniels. 2/ After Arena event; Called in for a drink with friends had a good beer. Young chap came round saying last orders so we got another round in. Within 5 minutes of receiving the drinks Young security guard came round and said drink up we are closing. The impression I got was the staff wanted to go home. Selling you a pint and not having enough time to drink it ? Like I said leaves a bitter taste with me and I'll be going else where in future. Show less

Came to parkside tavern for a bite to eat and a drink. The staff were lovely and accommodating. After ordering food, a table next to us claimed it was theirs and were quite unpleasant, the staff did everything to rectify the situation and went above and beyond. It's unfortunate some customers will be unpleasant and take advantage of a lovely establishment. But the staff at parkside tavern were beyond kind and helpful and really did their best to fix a bad situation caused by shoddy customers. I've come here a fair few times and every time has been a great experience. 10/10 service and atmosphere :) Show less

After ordering food, a table next to us claimed it was theirs and were quite unpleasant, the staff did everything to rectify the situation and went above and beyond.
