I’ve been going to Retrospect since before the pandemic and I’ve always enjoyed it. I went yesterday afternoon and when I ordered a cortado and pastry there must have been a misunderstanding because the barista only charged me for the pastry. So I was waiting a while for the cortado and after a while I went to ask about it, the barista said oh I thought you only wanted the pastry. I was prepared to pay for a cortado after I actually ordered it but the barista told me don’t worry about it. I really appreciate your barista’s hospitality. Show less

5 months agoNice treasure find in Midtown across from HCC campus. Had a Chorizo and egg taco. Really good but the red sauce hit it just right! They made me an amazing ice tea to top off the experience. Great open air place! Will enjoy many more time I’m sure!

Loved the historic gas station setting — it adds so much character. Perfect spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work... Read more

4 months agoI came here in the beginning of August, and the coffee was delicious! (I was told the taco was good too.) The service was quick and easy, very cute location. Right next to houston community college so perfect for before, in between, and after class.

Cute coffee spot with outdoor seating only. The many fans in the shaded area outside do a great job keeping the area cool. The bathrooms are accessible through the shaded area. I ordered a hot matcha with oat milk and vanilla syrup and my husband ordered a hot matcha with almond milk and strawberry syrup. They were both delicious. The strawberry syrup made it taste like a strawberry sorbet, yum. The oat milk and vanilla pairing made my matcha taste earthy, felt grounding and soothing going down. Great place to stop and have a quick meetup or casual meeting. Show less
