Lots of seating means never needing to stand. It's a good place with some solid coffee options. I like the fact they had a hello Kitty latte to try. It was a sticker that made it more hello Kitty like but it was still kind of cute. Pricing seemed fair for what was offered. Service was good It is lo... Read more

I would like to preface this by saying I’ve never left a review on anything and probably never will again. Sozo is quite charming and almost everyone there is quite nice. I have recently moved back to Omaha after years away and was trying to find a coffee shop to regular after my work shifts and it seemed like a perfect cozy joint. That was until today when some crazed man approached me while I was reading my book and started spouting off for 30 minutes in my general direction about some very disturbing and inappropriate topics. Eventually someone told one of the workers and he was kicked out, and I thought that was the end of it, but then one of the other baristas came over and scolded me as well. I was on the verge of a breakdown already and this just soured the place for me for good. It was bad to the point that other patrons came over to me and apologized. This isn’t something that will happen regularly but treating someone this way as a staff member who had no idea what happened is unacceptable. Don’t go here unless you want to be in close contact with some very strange characters Show less

This coffee shop is amazing! Been here many times over the past couple of years & they have so much seating, private study rooms for rent, & amazing coffee/matcha. They recently took the time to go the extra mile to make my drink extra special as pictured. Highly recommend

Great coffee. Pool table number 1 is positioned too close to the table and chairs next to the wall. It makes it impossible to hit a shot from that side of the pool table without the pool cue hitting the tables. They need to reposition the pool tables further away.

Came in 8 times to try to talk to the manager about renting Sozo because their website wasn’t working and left our numbers 5 times over the phone and the baristas just kept telling us to keep trying with no solution. Blonde manager keeps running away from us so they don’t have to do their job. Also, make the damn coffee how it’s supposed to be made. I ordered a drink that was supposed to have whipped cream, I didn’t get the whipped cream but my friend who ordered the exact drink did. The barista was like “oh did you want whipped cream?” Me: “does it come with it?” Barista: “yes” Me: “… then I’d like to have whipped cream if that’s how the drink is supposed to be made” barista: “oh ok!” HUHHHH???? The best coffee shop in Omaha in my opinion. Very clean and comfortable. Service was very good and the smoothies were pretty good too. They have created an inviting atmosphere and we'll recommend this spot for a quiet coffee spot.

Absolutely unacceptable service. The blonde short manager was passive aggressive, rude, and dismissive from the moment I ordered—no greeting, no basic courtesy. I waited 15 minutes for my order in a place that was not busy at all. I came in with a friend who ordered after me. Her drink was made wrong, and mine wasn’t made at all. When my friend went up to fix the issue, the manager was snarky about it, didn’t apologize once, and pushed the problem onto another barista to handle. To make it worse, both drinks were handed out to-go even though we clearly ordered for here. This wasn’t just a mistake, it was snarky, careless, and unprofessional behavior from management. If this is how customers are treated, it seriously raises the question of why someone with this attitude is still managing this place. I used to be a regular, I am not longer coming back. Show less

Whether you're looking for a quite space to work, a private room for study, a place to lounge on comfy couches and/or chat with your friends, or a spot to play pool and kick it with your buddies, this is THE SPOT. If a speakeasy were to be a coffee shop, this would be it. There are nice tables with lamps that offer outlets to plug in your devices, plenty of wall outlets for laptops / chargers / etc., private, reservable study rooms, open lounges with comfortable sofas, and much, much more this spot has to offer. The absolute only thing that kept this from 5-stars, much to my regret, is the lack of competent Wi-Fi; absolutely horrendous, slow, and non-existent to stay the least. When I spoke with the barristas, it sounds like this was an ongoing issue. I have unlimited cell service; however, being in the basement where this shop is located, I couldn't receive signal either way. Would I come back here again? Absolutely! But only if I know I can count on having some sort of internet connection. If you're just going to read a book, which I ended up doing, you'll be right at home. Show less

Sozo Coffee is the kind of place that actually gets community. From the second I walked in, I was greeted by name and pulled into easy, genuine conversation—the kind that makes you forget you’re just there for caffeine. The manager (short blonde) was warm, upbeat, and honestly a highlight of the visit. She talked my head off in the best way—friendly, engaging, and clearly someone who enjoys the people on the other side of the counter, not just the drinks she’s pushing out. The rest of the team matched that energy, which says a lot about how the place is run. My drink was made correctly, timing was smooth, and the whole experience felt personal instead of transactional. This is one of those spots where you’re not just another order number—they remember you, they chat with you, and they make it feel like your neighborhood coffee shop should. If you value good coffee and good people, Sozo does both right. Show less
