I was traveling across country quickly on I80 and wish I had more time to make stops at game stores / cafes that I've heard about along the way, but I'm glad that this was the one I took the time for. I am not familiar with Omaha or where Spielbound lies within the city, but it seemed to be nestled on a somewhat quiet street in a sort of business-district, fantastic for after-school / after-work gamers to enjoy quiet drinks and games. The exterior of the building has been curated to appear as a fairy-tale-esque bookshop, with a quaint logo and inviting appearance. Once inside you're greeted by a small selection of games to buy including some new releases and other harder-to-find rarities that you wouldn't find in the "new" rotation at another board game retailer. The size of the buy shelves aren't much to write home about, but that's not what this place is about. More importantly, the main room has a stocked cafe and a friendly staff that greets you, makes you feel welcome, and is more than happy to chat and make recommendations. Cafe tables are sized to be equipped for board games, which is honestly something a lot of other game cafes don't account for. Then you walk into the game library and are met with a vibrant, colorful collection of over 3,000 board games from old classics to releases that literally dropped earlier that week. The collection is impressive, to say the least and is one of the largest playable collections I've seen—and that's saying something since I work in the industry and travel the country visiting local game stores and conventions. All in all, whether you're stopping by in Omaha for a break on the long road or you're a local looking to try something new: Spielbound Game Cafe should be the answer. Show less

I am not familiar with Omaha or where Spielbound lies within the city, but it seemed to be nestled on a somewhat quiet street in a sort of business-district, fantastic for after-school / after-work gamers to enjoy quiet drinks and games. The exterior of the building has been curated to appear as a fairy-tale-esque bookshop, with a quaint logo and inviting appearance. Once inside you're greeted by a small selection of games to buy including some new releases and other harder-to-find rarities that you wouldn't find in the "new" rotation at another board game retailer. The size of the buy shelves aren't much to write home about, but that's not what this place is about. More importantly, the main room has a stocked cafe and a friendly staff that greets you, makes you feel welcome, and is more than happy to chat and make recommendations. Cafe tables are sized to be equipped for board games, which is honestly something a lot of other game cafes don't account for. Then you walk into the game library and are met with a vibrant, colorful collection of over 3,000 board games from old classics to releases that literally dropped earlier that week. The collection is impressive, to say the least and is one of the largest playable collections I've seen—and that's saying something since I work in the industry and travel the country visiting local game stores and conventions. All in all, whether you're stopping by in Omaha for a break on the long road or you're a local looking to try something new: Spielbound Game Cafe should be the answer. Show less
