Absolute joke of a pub, paid €30 for karaoke for a work event and arrived an hour early to be told our booking was pushed back 2 hours as there was a problem at 8:30, our booking was 9:30 and rather than contacting us to say there was an issue they waited for us to show up and pay for drinks with nowhere to sit before telling us. When we brought this to the manager Ciaras attention she said it was fully booked and there was nothing she could do and we can sit in the smoking area if we were that bothered. A second manager Sylvia then proceeds to follow us around and eavesdrop on all our conversations claiming we called her colleague names? Pointing her finger at us when we were talking and then claiming we were aggressive for doing it back. She then proceeded to refund us our booking without asking us after we waited an hour for the room already. We booked this weeks ago for our company it was so embarassing, people paid money for taxis to get here just to be treated like dirt. Absolutely outrageous I would never step foot here again!! The Back Page is a great location to meet up for casual drinks and delicious pizza. Our gang tried the hot wings challenge plate, we'd recommend it to anyone that likes hot sauces! The atmosphere is lively, with a good crowd there most evenings and weekends. There are plenty of TVs to watch matches ... Read more

The Back Page is a great location to meet up for casual drinks and delicious pizza. Our gang tried the hot wings challenge plate, we'd recommend it to anyone that likes hot sauces! The atmosphere is lively, with a good crowd there most evenings and weekends. There are plenty of TVs to watch matches on inside, however there are tables further down into the beer garden where there is no line of sight on any screens. I'm taking off one star as we booked a table online for 10 people 1 week in advance; the booking was accepted however when we got there only 5 of us could fit at the tiny tables set aside for us at the very back of the beer garden. We spoke to a manager that said he'd take a look for us but never returned. Luckily another group left before we ordered food and we were able to move to their larger table (no way our pizzas would have fitted on the smaller tables.) If you are booking space for a group I'd recommend calling to check where the table is located! Show less

I am still in shock to be honest. Booked a table for 6.30pm and sat there unattended until 7pm. Orders were taken by Jasmine who took the orders with a hand held order phone which took a while as it was new to her. 15 minutes later Jasmine returned to apologise for the delay as the system wasn't working so had to retake all the order including drinks by pen and paper. In the meantime I went and bought drinks at the bar myself as I quickly realised Jasmine was working alone on the floor and had several other tables suffering from similar delays. Drinks arrived eventually but after a long delay not to mention that after all this time, the member of the party who ordered an orange juice was told they didn't have any so they still had no drink 50 minutes after sitting down. Food arrived in stages and the quality was good in fairness. After ordering a second round of drinks, a further delay ensued so I went to the bar to see what was happening. There was 1 barman on duty and after watching him serve a busy crowd on his own with swift efficiency, I knew the problem didn't lie with him. The machine behind him kept spewing out orders and he did his best to keep on top of everything. I watched as Jasmine tried ask him several times to pour our drinks for the table order but he could only do so much. Enough was enough so I asked to speak with the manager. She was on a break I was informed. Eventually she returned from her break and I explained what had happened. Her response was to blame the faulty equipment and that despite how under pressure the single barman and floor staff were, she was entitled to her 10 minute break. During my time at the bar, I had not set eyes on her for over 25 minutes. I applaud Jasmine and the Bar Man for their composure throughout the chaos but nobody in this day and age should work under such despicable circumstances. The management is deplorable, inexperienced and not suitable. As for the venue, great atmosphere, good food and fun place for a drink with friends. Owners need to take a serious look at management staffing though. Show less

Both my son and I were very distraught after this this incident and left our party early. There were issues with the space allocation being a small corner of the agreed area, errors with food and not having table service for our group, while there was table service for the other smaller groups next to ours. But these miscommunications are to be expected in a busy pub. However disrespectful and threatening behavior by a staff member who is in serious need of anger management is never acceptable. Lovely place, for a date or celebrations! For larges groups I recommend booking, and also if it will be during weekends nights, there is always crowded! I was really excited about it this year but when I arrived at the till I was told that I am not eligible for a free pizza because I did not book a table (even though we had a table to sit at). The staff was insanely rude. We were asking him to take a picture for us, guiding him on how to take it and he was like 'Okay I knew it, you guys are doing too much'. I had the absolute misfortune of ordering a pizza and a side here, and what followed was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I have ever had. Over an hour passed with no food in sight. When I asked the first waitress, she literally had no idea what to do. The second said she would check and then vanished completely. The third promised to get it immediately, only to eventually return with the wrong pizza, which she then took away again. When the correct pizza finally arrived much later, it was carelessly thrown into a cardboard takeaway box even though I was eating in. My side order was still missing. I had to go back out to the counter to chase it, at which point yet another waitress told me to ask someone else. This was despite the fact that the restaurant was not even busy. When I asked the girl who brought me the pizza, she dismissed me and claimed that the sides come from a different part of the building, which made absolutely no sense. On my way back to my table, I asked another waitress who told me it was her first day and that she would check. I then watched her walk past my table multiple times without ever giving me an update. I spent over an hour and a half dealing with this ridiculous back and forth for what turned out to be completely mediocre food. I never even received the side I ordered. To make matters worse, the drink ordered by the person I was with never arrived either. The service was unprofessional, disinterested and dismissive throughout. I left annoyed and genuinely shocked that a restaurant can operate with such a lack of basic standards. I have never felt the need to write a review before, but this was so bad that I feel obligated to warn others. Avoid this place at all costs. I will not be returning and I strongly advise that you do not make the same mistake I did. Show less

Seems it is a very famous bar in this area. It looks ordinary and not big from outside but entering is a completely different world. The space is very spacious and divided into different areas. This is a great bar with warm engaged staff. Was there with my husband for an early nye pizza. They have the most sensational vegetarian pizzas in Ireland!!
