1 year agoAwesome hole in the wall table top gaming cafe! Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, great drinks, and games to borrow / buy on premises! Drop by and check out what others are playing. It's a friendly environment so you might end up making a friend or two.

Lovely game cafe in the Saint Clair West area. Has a retail section of hundreds of board and card games, as well as merch, props, models, and paints. Good place to buy gifts for game lovers. Has a great selection of games for rent, everything from old classics like Monopoly, to more recent classics like Dungeons & Dragons, to modern games like 5 Minute Mysteries and Dune. They serve really good coffee with vegan options, and they also have a good food menu and pastries (the cranberry loafs are delicious!). They also have a cozy reading corner with a gas fireplace. A more communal and less noisy atmosphere than Snakes&Lattes. My brother and I had a really great time, and it's become one of my favorite spots in the city! Show less

The Guild House is simply incredible. Not only can you order drinks and food from their cafe, but what they serve is very affordable and very delicious! Not to mention the staff is extremely kind and will help anyone who's looking for the right kind of game. The decor is rustic, inviting and makes you feel at home. Being able to play board games at their tables and enjoy a nice snack or meal is great. They have a wonderful variety of games to play and hundreds of games to purchase on the store floor. If you're into tabletop games like Warhammer, TGH has you covered from models, paint and brushes. If you want to play Warhammer AOS/40K, there's plenty of nice and I mean NICE tables designed with beautiful terrain on their lower level floor. The low cost of $5 to play at a table ALL DAY is just an incredible deal and everyone I've met while playing is so friendly. Did I mention you can order from the cafe and play? I love enjoying a nice latte while destroying my opponent with bolter fire. To be honest, I can praise TGH forever, it's just that great and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to play games and enjoy some good food and beverages. See for yourself and you wont be disappointed. It's a great place for date nights and I can't wait to return. I love The Guild House!! Show less

Great space to hang out and play games with friends. They sell and rent boardgames at the front. Past that they have a cafe/bar setup (and they just recently started doing cocktails!). Around the bar they have several tables of varying sizes for chatting or playing board games and they have ttrpg tables towards the back. They also have a basement with tables set up for Warhammer or other TTRPG. My group played D&D in the basement and honestly the vibes were great. The shelves in the back and the basement are covered with different types of gaming tiles and miniatures that are available to use in your games (we're definitely making use of the whole sailing ship setup they have next time!). The place even felt cozy despite there being a really good amount of space. I was distracted and didn't catch their names but the 2 people who run the place are really friendly and clearly hobbyists living their passion. I'd go back just for their genuine, fun energy alone, but I loved the whole place. Will definitely be going back soon! Show less

If you are looking for a cafe that offers board game activities and you like your experience to be leisurely and relaxing, the Guild House is the place for you. Unlike typical board game cafes where the atmosphere is hectic and the visit compressed, the Guild House comes across as a good cafe first. It serves excellent pastries and sandwiches in addition to beverages. It is a sizable location but not jam packed with tables. There is a lot of elbow room and a more relaxed ambience in general. They have a healthy selection of games for patrons to borrow while on premise, and there is NO time limit to the visit. For one sitting fee you can stay till closing time.
