Though I was willing to buy drinks, they would not allow me to give a healthy snack from home to my young child unless I purchased the private room. As regulars, willing to purchase treats, this seemed awfully strict and we haven't gone back since. Original 4 star review: Great tamales, good selection, awesome library, spacious and sooooo many cool events hosted almost daily. Only things I don't love is that it's often really cold in there and there is not enough parking. And when it's crowded, the acoustics are bad and it gets really loud in there Show less

Was exploring different areas of Seattle, and since my friend lives West Seattle, decided to see all the little neighbourhood areas, and this was for sure a stop as I wanted to see how board game/nerd store are in the little suburbs of Seattle. This was considered more of a café first before the boardgames, nerdy stuff. But at the same time, they have dedicated private rooms for large groups who want to have a private gaming space too. The coolest thing is that they have such a good espresso machine to boot as well, with your games! They have SOO many tables in the café, and they were all the large ones too so you and your friends can play a decent board game. The coolest thing is that the location of the café is in West Seattle close to a lot of residential housing and it is literally a neighborhood gaming store. I love it a lot. When we visited, it was a Sunday morning, and there weren't a lot of people here, so it was the best time to visit, to grab a quick coffee and a bite to eat. I ordered a typical iced latte, and was invited by a bunch of ladies who brunch for a couple games of American style Mah-jong. I was extremely surprised by the style and on top of that it was extremely fun! I have played a lot of variety of MJ but this version is VERY new to me. I loved the game and the ladies were nice and lovely. Next time I want to come back here with a couple of friends, use one of their private rooms, and play a whole day of board games & magic the gathering. Show less

Nice clean shop with friendly service. Limited selection of food and drinks, including coffee and some beers. Good selection of popular games. As an rpg enthusiast I wish they carried a little more variety, but I'm happy to have a source for my DND needs.

The owner is such a fresh breath of air compared to many 'karens' around the neighborhood. Can't wait to stop by and support!

Oddly supercilious barista and lousy americano. Great games and atmosphere. Lots of drink options. Maybe they’re better than the coffee.

She asked if I wanted a drink, I should’ve went with my gut and said no but it felt like she was actually trying to engage in customer service. I ordered a 16oz mocha with almond milk. I got home to see I had, at most, 8oz of drink and a half of cup of foam!..in a cup that looks dirty. I don’t know if it was just me or she treats everyone this way but note taken, I will not be coming back. Disappointing Show less

The store is bright, clean, and welcoming. Nooks present private stores to sit and read, or have a quiet conversation in what is otherwise a bustling cafe and game store. They have a couple private rooms, clean unisex bathrooms, a substantial game library, and really nice tables and chairs space out to allow in store play and dining. Their game offerings run the scale from kids and toddlers, all the way up to expert strategy and euro games. One of the coolest things is they have a week stocked used game section, that have been inspected, shrink wrapped, and priced to sell!

She asked if I wanted a drink, I should’ve went with my gut and said no but it felt like she was actually trying to engage in customer service. I ordered a 16oz mocha with almond milk. Lots of fun engaging events (go on Sunday, they usually will teach you a new board game, they give you easy tickets and you can spin a wheel to get a discount or free room reservation if you're lucky). Good atmosphere to do some crafts, and if you like puzzles there's usually one sitting out to be done. A perfect combination of cozy, welcoming, friendly, nerdy, and packed full of games and snacks to enjoy. Show less

She asked if I wanted a drink, I should’ve went with my gut and said no but it felt like she was actually trying to engage in customer service. I ordered a 16oz mocha with almond milk.

I highly recommend both the coffee, and food... and frankly the environment couldn't be better! Show less

Show less

Oddly supercilious barista and lousy americano. Great games and atmosphere. Lots of drink options. Maybe they’re better than the coffee.

I had a lovely coffee ☕️ here. Victrola is the coffee roaster and my 3rd favorite roaster in Seattle. I was happy to find this place. Free game wall to pick and play at the table, or buy a new game to play.

Especially amazing if you are into board games, this coffee shop and game room is a treat. We have been in more than a few times and I am always happy with the service and the coffee. Next time you are in the south side of West Seattle, pay The Missing Piece a visit.

She asked if I wanted a drink, I should’ve went with my gut and said no but it felt like she was actually trying to engage in customer service. I ordered a 16oz mocha with almond milk.

I highly recommend both the coffee, and food... and frankly the environment couldn't be better! Show less

I love that they serve soups, meeples doesn't serve soup so that's specifically how I found this place. I always have a place to sit and the environment is relaxing. As regulars, willing to purchase treats, this seemed awfully strict and we haven't gone back since. Show less

I highly recommend both the coffee, and food... and frankly the environment couldn't be better! Show less

Employees were all nice every time I've gone. Everything I've tried foodwise here has been pretty good! I love that they serve soups, meeples doesn't serve soup so that's specifically how I found this place. I always have a place to sit and the environment is relaxing. They were playing some sort of jazz sonic the hedgehog soundtrack tonight which was awesome to recognize. Wish they served a bigger soup variety, been chasing the clam chowder ever since I tried it lol. Show less

Though I was willing to buy drinks, they would not allow me to give a healthy snack from home to my young child unless I purchased the private room. As regulars, willing to purchase treats, this seemed awfully strict and we haven't gone back since.

Show less

I had a job interview there once because I love it so much and it was just a chill interview. We got some coffee and food and just had a good time. Show less

After about 20 seconds of awkward standing, I was the only one in the store, she acknowledged me while continuing what she was doing no eye contact. I got my purchase with ease.

The Missing Piece is a fantastic place for a cup of coffee, and a delicious pastry or warm panini. They use Victrola Coffee Roasters, and are experts at churning out great coffee. I highly recommend both the coffee, and food... and frankly the environment couldn't be better! Show less

Parking isn't great, as I got a ticket for accidentally parking in the paid parking lot next door when I came in the dark one time, but otherwise the store itself is pretty cool! Show less

I am a 58 year old Uber Lift driver. And I live from restroom to restroom. I searched and found a place that is 1. Comfortable 2. Accessible (There are few free parking spots =)) and 3. Friendly! =) They have all the things I look for when looking for a Uber/Lift base of operations!

Great spot! I know they are planning to move soon but at least the location we visited was bright and open for playing tabletop with great food and beverage options. Nice selection of games to play from the library or buy and also fantastic service from Summer! Highly recommend.
