The staff and owners are some of the friendliest people around—they actually care about their customers and their team, which makes a huge difference. You always feel welcome, and they go out of their way to help. 👍🏾 If you’re into gaming and anywhere near Philly, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t regret it! Show less

I felt bad that the person at the register seemed really stressed about organizing some sort of tournament. I bought two mtg packs then decided to get a third one last minute. I used a bit of slang in my haste, and the guy standing behind me on line who was partaking in the tournament disrespectfully mocked my language. It seems like he knew the cashier from previous times coming to the shop and he misgendered them. In instances like that, I felt like more staff should have been present to handle the tournament that was clearly stressful for the employee. As for the customer, that’s not really the shop’s fault or responsibility, but it really deterred me from going there afterwards because if this is the kind of person who is a regular, I don’t necessarily feel welcome or respected nor like they respect the employees. I could buy theses games online but much prefer the in person shopping experience. Philly game shop has always provided me with a knowledgeable and helpful shopping experience. I was in there today buying Twilight imperium and had a couple of questions about the game, which was a bigger purchase for me, and the person at the counter Shane gave me the whole "gamer bro" you don't belong here stick. All attitude when I asked my questions. Clearly Shane felt like I was wasting their time. They answered the two questions I had with " well do you want it or not".
