Been playing there since September when it started up and honestly can not ask for a nicer group of people I can now call friends! Come along and enjoy the fun everyone is welcome!

A friendly, welcoming club for all sorts of TTRPGs, such as Dungeons and Dragons, and one of the most welcoming places for both new and experienced players of any system!

This is proving to be a good venue for gaming. Decent pub grub and food available when we are playing. Only issue is the disabled access which is down to the limitations of the location, otherwise I think we have done well finding this venue.

Firstly, and most importantly, the RP Haven in Edinburgh is a friendly place which welcomes everyone. I've been several times, not having met anyone in real life before going, turning up on my own each time, and always making friends and finding a game. Tip: Book what you want to play on the website first. Secondly, and most surprisingly, the RP Haven in Edinburgh seems to defy gamer logic. Why? Well, if you are Dungeons & Dragons curious and want to try, you can come here. Alternatively, if you're fed up with D&D and want to try an alternative, even an indie, you can still come here. Equally, if you're looking for a regular game or to run a regular game, then you can check out the RP Haven. If like me, fitting a weekly session into your timetable is unlikely, you can pop in for one-shots without commitment. Tip: There's a companion Discord server, found from the site, which is an excellent place to ask questions. I like the RP Haven as a social venue and a place to try new games. Try before I buy means I save a bit of cash by not needing to buy the latest tempting RPG first. I find this more than compensates for the small membership fee. Tip: The first game is always free; you can even try the RP Haven before you buy. The RP Haven is downstairs in Mercat Bar in Edinburgh, at least in 2022 when the club started and as 2023, but it's not connected to the venue and could, in theory, move. The significant advantages of the Mercat are that it serves food (upstairs) and drink (upstairs and downstairs), is central, near Haymarket and has many bus stops. The disadvantage is that the flight of stairs down absolutely isn't wheelchair or stick-friendly. There are several RP clubs in Edinburgh, but RP Haven is a nationally recognised one, perhaps the biggest out there, and I recommend it. Show less
