A great place to chill after a long day's work, play games with friends, haunt the wifi to do homework, have just a cup of hot tea, wine, or a Obi-Wan Kentucky cocktail with a sandwich or cookie and let the hours slip away. There's a cover charge of $5 per person to play any of the +750 games on the Wall of Games all day until the place closes, but chess and the games in the '&' sin on the wall are free to play. You don't have to pay the $5 if you don't want to play any games. The menu has sandwiches, salads, cookies, beers, cocktails, teas, and coffee all for sale too. They also have free wifi and plenty of plugs for students wanting to get ahead on homework, participate in NaNoWriMo, or just watch videos. Long story short, this place is the best hangout in Athens. First time visiting and probably my last. Just a rude experience that sours my fist time being here with friends. Was playing telestrations and needed another marker for the game due to more than half we had grabbed not working. I go up to the counter and grabbed a marker as there are cups with TONS OF THEM UP THERE and the girl behind the counter was probably the most rude experience I've had in 5 or more years. She was so mad that I at a shop with board games was looking through the cups of markers on the counter. She said in a very rude way next time don't be up here grabbing stuff ask! Do not be grabbing stuff." My god I'm sorry it was my first time here with friends and had no idea what the unspoken rules were at this place. You'd have thought I'd been behind the counter making my own drink the way she treated me. I also mentioned this to my friend group and another girl also mentioned she was rude to her as well. So it was just not me that got rude service. Overall after this interaction with staff this place is soured and I'll bring board games to McDonald's before I set foot back in here. Go play somewhere else unless you like being treated like trash by staff by all means come here. Seems like a cool place but I don't appreciate RUDE STAFF, when I'm just looking for a marker. If a manager or owner wants to call me and hear more by all means let me know, but yeah not someone I'd want behind my counter at any business. Show less

I’ve been a customer here many times over the past ten years but I fear I’m at my wits end. The food is always subpar, the service is terrible and the employees are rude and lazy. They never answer the phone and have no sort of online ordering option so even when I want a mid and under filled sandwich I have to go in person and wait an hour for cold food. Can’t even order lunch anymore smdh. The games are good but many are missing pieces or parts and the staff seem annoyed by the fact they work somewhere that customers would like to visit. If I could give the service zero stars I would. I think it’s a great place to go if you are friends with the bartender or are too drunk to remember. Show less

I’ve been a customer here many times over the past ten years but I fear I’m at my wits end. The food is always subpar, the service is terrible and the employees are rude and lazy. They never answer the phone and have no sort of online ordering option so even when I want a mid and under filled sandwich I have to go in person and wait an hour for cold food.
