My wife and I are One Piece players who recently moved back to the state and have had trouble finding a place to play. We were fortunate to come across this shop. The shop has a large play area and the owner was very inviting and kind to us and all out fellow customers and players. We’ve visited other shops in New Mexico and it has been surprisingly rare to find a shop who that is as enthusiastic to welcome new players. From our visit it was obvious the shop is invested in growing a positive local community which doesn’t appear to be the priority of some of the other shops within the state that we’ve visited in the past. We will be returning and I would recommend anyone looking for a local shop to play at to give the WZKD Games a visit. Show less

My wife and I are One Piece players who recently moved back to the state and have had trouble finding a place to play. We were fortunate to come across this shop. The shop has a large play area and the owner was very inviting and kind to us and all out fellow customers and players. We’ve visited other shops in New Mexico and it has been surprisingly rare to find a shop who that is as enthusiastic to welcome new players. Another great Sante Fe card shop. The staff was super friendly and helpful my son was looking to get into D&D and as a pathfinder player from my time I knew he would need a starting point, so I asked and was given exactly what I needed to start a small campaign without digging into my wallet too much the store was not just trying to over sell me, which I very much appreciate as a customer. They were about to have a One Piece Tournament I wish we could of stayed for that but alas there is much to do on vacation. Another great Sante Fe card shop. The employees of this establishment have misled me a few times this week. I was told a certain item would be in stock on a Wednesday, so I cleared time in my schedule to visit on Wednesday. Surprise no stock, was then told the delivery would be in on Friday. Cleared space in my schedule again and showed up twice on Friday in the middle and end of day, still no stock and was told to come back the next day (Saturday). Called the store on Saturday and was told they don’t get shipments any day except for Wednesday. Long story short if you’re looking for something specific don’t hold your breath if you’re only trying to source it from this store. Show less

This store was set to host a League Challenge on Friday, September 19, 2025. I ... Read more

Like other Play! Pokemon stores in Santa Fe (namely ones at the DeVargas Mall), this store is building a bad reputation for the local Pokemon community by using deceptive practices and displaying poor store management. This store was set to host a League Challenge on Friday, September 19, 2025. I noticed the official Play! Pokemon website had this event listed as a League Challenge, but, WZKD titled it as a “League Cup”. I walked into the store on two different occasions to verify whether this was a Cup or a Challenge as they are two very different events, especially with point payout. Both times I was told it is a “Cup”. Their instagram page also falsely advertised this as a “Cup” when in reality, this was a Challenge. It’s very disappointing to see how poor the local Pokemon community is in Santa Fe. One of the other stores (namely at the DeVargas Mall) was recently banned from league play due to these types of actions from store owners. Going back to their supposed “Cup”, I showed up to play, only to find out that 1. The store employee didn’t even know there was a Pokemon event happening and 2. I was told I was the only one who showed up, so I ended up leaving after waiting about 5 minutes for others to show up, which no one did. I also found out that the store scheduled this supposed “Cup” at the same time during a MTG prerelease event. I have been playing Pokemon TCG competitively for the past 3 years and have found it very difficult to support any Santa Fe store with league play as they don’t support its players and use deceptive practices to draw them into their events. I have been traveling from Santa Fe to Rio Rancho and Albuquerque for Challenges and Cups as their organizers have displayed a commitment to the community. Not every store is perfect, but as usual, I cannot support the Santa Fe stores, including WZKD. Hopefully the store owner will clean things up. I wish them well in their future endeavors. Show less

Went in Friday evening to play Gloom-haven. Store was full of gamers, and families shopping for the holidays. Staff was helpful and friendly, and it looked they had a ton of games in stock. Place was clean with lots of clean table space to sit down and play or to take a break and have a snack. Staff was able to assist with the game when we had questions about the rules, and we all had a great time. If you’re looking for a million fun family activities- most for under $50- check out the selection at WZKDS- and if you’re not sure sure what you’re looking for, staff always have helpful suggestions. Stopped by for the first time about a week ago because I’ve been wanting to get into warhammer. I talked to Craig and Jude and they were so helpful. I joined the discord and went in yesterday and got to play a learning game with Jude. He was so helpful and knowledgeable and I got to use the shop armies so I didn’t even have to buy anything. After the game I wanted some models to work on at home and Jude talked me through all the paint and tools I would need. He even kept me from buying some things he felt I didn’t need yet so I wasn’t overwhelmed. So stoked to have found this community. Every time I go into the shop it’s such a good vibe and everyone is so friendly. I suggest anyone who wants to learn magic, warhammer, pokemon, or anything else of the sort to definitely stop in and chat with them. Show less

I don’t know what kind of sorcery this card shop is working with, but it’s officially the best husband daycare in town. 😂 Every time my husband walks in, he’s like a kid at a Magic: The Gathering tournament, completely absorbed, borderline unreachable, and having the time of his life. While he’s busy trading lands, debating strategies, and hunting for that one card he swears will “complete the deck,” I get to enjoy an hour (or three) of glorious peace. It’s truly a magical experience for both of us. ✨ The staff is awesome, super welcoming, know their stuff, and somehow manage to keep a room full of MTG players both focused and entertained. I don’t know what kind of sorcery this card shop is working with, but it’s officially the best husband daycare in town. 😂 Every time my husband walks in, he’s like a kid at a Magic: The Gathering tournament, completely absorbed, borderline unreachable, and having the time of his life. I have had two bad experiences with this store, one two weeks ago and one yesterday 9/8/25. Yesterday’s was by far the worst. While checking out the warhammer selection I picked up a model and asked about the price on it. I was told the model was $200 ( this was being purchased for a friend) I told the employee thank you and was very rudely told “yeah big robot big money most people can’t afford it”. Very sad that the employees of this place chase off customers because I was recommended stopping by because the owner is an awesome person. When talking with some friends who have also been treated the same I was told this employee has treated them the same and assumed they could not afford items in the store. I traveled over an hour to spend my money here but looks like I’ll be ordering online from now on. Show less

The singles collection is good, the culture is solid, the events are well-run...no bad things to say about WZKD! Also, hugely grateful they commissioned me to do a huge mural with Magic: The Gathering characters taking up enormous wall space. Project is taking forever but it looks great in there! Show less
